Yes, our Golden Corral Buffet is open. We drove by it this last Friday evening and the parking lot was pretty packed with cars. I would suppose that they still have restrictions on, like being served at a table only (not standing in line at buffet to get food) and, perhaps "spacing" done. Not sure about the "spacing" since there were so many cars in the parking lot. But, it is open. Come the first weekend (Easter weekend) of April, we will be some 14 degrees above the normal April temp of 62. But, most likely, Old Man Winter isn't done with us yet. We can have a snowstorm as late as Mother's Day Weekend and seen that happen when we lived here before.
@Von Jones Just look what I found at our sunny, no cloud in the sky, 70-degree opening day flea market. I purchased it thinking of you and your opening day. Only 25 cents but since it was for 4H, I gave them a dollar.
Other than windy here weather perfect so no lake trip till Thursday, mowed back for dogs, my big mower is in the shop so out with the old one, I hate it. But all done now waiting on plumber to fix sewer. Going to friends tomorrow to load ammo and fish Thursday in Oklahoma. Like to hit gun club 1 day also if I can this week. I try to shoot every week if possible, my therapy same as my fishing. Dont plan on changing as long as I can stay active.
Yesterdays weather was pretty terrific, especially for the end of March. Went over to local lake, boat ramp is open and people were "biting at the bit" to get their boats on the lake. However, we didn't see anyone in our age bracket going out. Since we know what the weather can still turn into here, up until Mother's Day Weekend, we sure aren't getting our boat "summerized" until the middle of May. "Summerized" meaning: all hose clamps put back on, batteries put back in, engine started and new prop installed. Once the engine is started, we are no longer protected if there is a hard freeze again. We just won't take that chance, until the middle of May. Came home and watched American Idol and another segment of Aretha Franklin's story. Our County isn't "out of the woods" yet for the Covid 19, so we are going to continue be cautious/safe.
We have had strong wind last couple of days. I have a chore of picking up sticks for the next few days. Probably be mowing by the end of the week if the weather remains warm.
Um water has been off, city is working on the pipes. Our internet went out yesterday. Finally came back on, so spent time re programming some things. Sunny/ cloudy here. Rain and possible thunderstorm later tonight. A yawny kind of day
So it appears that our garden shed is sinking in back; we have poor drainage back there thanks to a jackass neighbor. Sigh. The front isn't moving, I suppose because there's a little concrete pad in front of the door that holds the front up. So the hubby has decided to jack it up and put some cement blocks under the back; he's out there digging a little trench. I'm going to stay inside.
I'm having a good day. Went to the Goodwill found me two books and a brand new top for$ 5.99. Then I went Big Lots Found some cookies we like but don't need.
What kind of day will I have, Lon, inquires? Gee, I can't remember where I left my crystal ball, so I will just wing it. So far great. The outside temp was 50 degrees almost ideal for my lady of steel early morning patio Tai Chi donned in sports bra and shorts. Feeling invigorated I finished my workout indoors and started laundry. Breakfast #1 downed and now drinking coffee, I await the 5 o'clock AM hour for breakfast #2 where whole milk natural no additive local made yogurt will meet with stomach acid to be enhanced by 3 tablespoons natural almond butter mixed with local wildflower honey. Yes, I will eat it straight from the spoon Bobby Cole style. Two more loads of laundry and that primate is off my back. I am skipping guitar practice just because I can. It is predicted to be a sunny day and reach 65 degrees with no wind. We shall see. No plans except my 5-mile walk across the hayfield, toward the sun, where I can get fresh air with the scent of alfalfa and walk for one mile in my sports bra without distracting and disgusting the unfortunate victims navigating their vehicles in impatient traffic. I will continue to look for an old photo of me castrating bull calves for display on the ranch forum where such is appreciated and sought. I wish I could get a ride down to one of the large ranches doing branding and castrating this week. I probably couldn't get down and do the surgery relieving the young bulls of their burden, but I could run the irons and take photos. So, not sure what kind of day I will have but it looks promising so far just past the NOW 6 AM hour (due to laundry folding and breakfast #2), but wait! I just looked up to see the wind picking up so the perfect spring day once in the making is taking a nasty turn. I will make the best of this day whatever events unfold.
One thing for sure, this isn't any kind of ranch forum! Most people here have no idea what you are talking about (in red above), but I do. A good reason I've stopped talking about farming/ranching/rodeo. LOL
