In the course of my job, I came across this article that I wrote for Aviva Directory a year or three ago, and thought it might serve as a topic here.

    Do you believe in angels?
If so, what do you believe about angels?

For now, I'll let my feature article - In the Nature of Angels - serve as mine, although in that article, I cite references from various sources, not my personal beliefs. I'll do that later.

I just heard a Pastor this morning discuss angels, and he claimed that they're all males from the Biblical accounts. I'm not sure if that's a factual conclusion, but it is a reasonable likelihood that's kind of interesting.

It's consistent for an Atheist, Materialist, or Naturalist who rejects a supernatural world to include angels in that unbelief category. Any Christian of course should know that we live in a world full of spirits, including angels, demons, and God's Holy Spirit. If the Bible isn't enough evidence for this (as it should be), there are an abundance of witness accounts from books, articles, movies, and YouTube videos documenting the appearance of such spirits. There's also thousands of testimonies from NDE survivors who convincingly detail real encounters with demons, angels, lost loved ones, and Jesus.

For anyone respecting the Law of Causality or 1st Law of Thermodynamics, belief in a supernatural creator of the universe is a rational conclusion. (Whereas, to deny these proven laws of nature by holding to a big bang effect with no cause, or a universe coming naturally from nothing, is irrational.) It follows then that the creation of both natural (ie: human) and unnatural (ie: angelic) beings would be consistent with God and the Bible. The Bible and peoples' witness accounts give evidential reason to believe in angels while true science gives no empirical reason not to.

Witness accounts are used in court all the time.

    .
So your answer is, yes... as long as they are male and that may or may not be a "factual conclusion?"

And it seems to me that your posts are judgemental and inflammatory toward those who don't believe as you do. "Judge not lest ye be judged."

Of course, anyone familiar with the Scriptures knows that we will all be judged. What is meant is that we will be judged by the same standards we apply to others.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." -- Matthew 7:1-2

The Scriptures give us no indication of the precise time of the creation of angels; their existence is assumed at the earliest times. Our Lord often spoke of angels; in the New Testament they are numerous.

God bestowed upon angels great wisdom, freedom, and power, and their many appearances in the New Testament are indication of the lead role assigned to them. Both the New Testament and Old Testament refer also to the fallen angels. The Temptation of Adam and Eve presupposes the existence of bad spirits or demons who were cast into hell from which they have no hope of redemption. Angels are purely spiritual or bodiless persons some of whom behold the face of God and thus are in bliss

These spiritual beings comprise the celestial court and are called angels because, according to the Bible, they carry out missions at God's command. In order to complete these missions, they can at times assume bodily form. According to the Bible, their missions are sometimes of great importance.
I do believe in Angels, they are our guiding lights.

As I understand tradition, angels are not "created" beings, but are just existent in the same manner as God. They are not creatures, therefore cannot be killed. That is why they have to be "cast out", "cast down", or imprisoned in some manner. I certainly believe they could exist, but I have no direct evidence that is so. I also have no evidence they do not exist, so my mind is open on the subject. As the logicians say, "Lack of evidence of existence is not evidence of non-existence."

Yes, I have encountered times when I felt that they interceded on my behalf to keep me from harm.
The last time was 5 years ago when I had my bicycle wreck and woke up in ER, with frontal lobe bleeding. (I have already posted what happened, so I won't repeat it)

I was unconscious, and spent a day and half in ER, and after a brain scan, the neurosurgeon ruled that I could not drive for a month, and I had another scan after that, which turned out o.k.

I can count 3 times in my life, that if it had not been for my guardian angel, I could have easily left this world, and this is definitely not my imagination.
