This was taken in Seoul, South Korea, sometime in 1962.

Are you sure that you do not mean 1952, for South Korea, rather than 1962, @Hal Pollner ?

No, Yvonne...I meant 1962. If that picture had been taken in 1952, I would be 95 today!

The Korean War began on June 25,1950 and ended in a cease-fire on July 27,1953.

After the cease-fire, the US sent Occupation Forces to South Korea as as a warning to the North Korean and the Chinese Communists to keep on their side of the 38th Parallel, which they have been doing since the cease-fire.

The Korean War was the only war the Americans have engaged in up until that time that did not end with a surrender of the Enemy to the American forces; instead it has remained in a perpetual state of "Cease-Fire" since 1953, when I was still in High School.

I was part of the "Occupation Forces".

    At ease.....
