Well, Silvia, Dr Fauci has professional insight that none of us have.

Guess you don't have any relatives or friends that care if you get it or not. IOW, like my SIL and our friend, that were told "get it or not see your grandchildren". Now, of course, Dr. Fauci and the daughter and sons of that SIL and friend, sure have our blessing.

Question is..........what if you take precautions and end up getting the virus and it's serious? Precautions are fine, but the vaccine is better. If it wasn't better, why have so many Seniors got it? We all can't be stupid for getting it. But, again, it's your choice.

The year that I got a spot of pneumonia in my one lung, I didn't get the Senior Double-Dose Flu Shot. I told myself, and my wife, after that terrifying weekend of coughing, I was going to get that shot every year. My VA doctor was so proud of me.

Well, Susan, it has been determined that those that got the first shot, didn't wait long enough (2-weeks) for it to be effective. And, many of them stopped doing both the mask and distancing. IOW, there are those that got the first shot, that got overly-confident about getting it and said "that's it, I'm fine now". Totally untrue!

Yeah, they are just now slowly releasing the "booster" news. It is set up like the flu vaccine, probably to maximize the Pharm profits as much as anything else. As I mentioned before, getting the vaccine actually makes you MORE vulnerable to the Coronavirus until at least two weeks after you receive the second vaccine. That is seldom mentioned either, but it is well known by the researchers. You also become an asymptomatic carrier of the virus , or can be if you are exposed to the virus.

Yes, it is shocking and surprising how many older people can be stupid at the same time,

and whether or not it matters that they were totally tricked into believing a shot would help them ?

Number one, for the first comment, how do you know? As to the final comment, the flu vaccine and the Covid vaccine are two completely different animals. Until this Covid thing, mRNA vaccine technology was considered too dangerous to use on humans, and the FDA would never approve it. It now has conditional emergency approval but has not been fully approved by the agency and may never be depending on the long-term side effects that emerge over time. All vaccines up to this time have been "conventional vaccines", including the flu vaccine. Flu vaccine is claimed to have an 80% effectiveness, i.e., 20% of the vaccinated population will still get the disease. That is not true, say, for the polio or smallpox vaccine. I once did anecdotal studies that showed NO reduction in the flu incidence, although I could not measure severity of disease and the study was done among healthy non-senior individuals.

In the midst of the mess of the last election and then this virus thing, I joined a different seniors forum, seeking the shelter of my peer group (reasonably rational adults who at least attempt to form fact-based opinions.) I was so depressed at what I found. How could so many Baby Boomers have aggressively jettisoned the mere basics of rational thought in favor of group-think?

It is /was/ described over 2000 years ago as this: Society is pernicious. (death dealing).

It may be related directly to the multiple plagues now occurring worldwide. The ones also predicted over 2000 years ago.

It certainly does not build anyone's health, nor their well-being. (it was never meant to be a good thing in fact) (only at most to pretend to be, likely for money and for power, and to break down families and souls and bodies)

First, we are both in our early 70's, that being, her/73 and me almost 72.

Big/Major question: Did she have anyone with her the day after she got the vaccine?

The day after my wife got her #2 Pfizer, she got a low-grade fever of 101 and felt pretty miserable. We have a oral thermometer, with disposable sleeves, that we take our temperature with. I had her drink plenty of water, go back to bed and take a 200mg Motrin (Ibuprofen). Her fever started coming down that evening and by the next day, she was feeling much, much better.

After my #2 Moderna shot, I was fine the next day. Absolutely nothing happened to me, except, of course, a sore shoulder.

My wife's older sister will be getting her #1 at the end of May and we've already told her to have her granddaughter stay with her the night and next day after she gets it and, for #2, definitely have the granddaughter stay with her. Will she do this? Have no idea.

Basically, Silvia, you simply can't base someone else's reaction to what yours could be. But, if you want to take the chance and not get the vaccines, that's entirely up to you. But, it is a chance and one that others have done and results not so good. It's up to you.

Your opinion and, wife and I thank God that not everyone feels like you do. The Heath Dept. made it a necessity that, where Lon lives, every resident had to get the vaccines. Many other Asst. Living and Nursing Homes did the same thing. Even those that work in a doctor's office, were required to get the vaccines or not work there.

A conspiracy occurred to me. Perhaps they are using the vaccines to test for "compliant" people, i.e., those who do as they are told, then they will release the "Real" bioweapon Corona virus--the one the vaccine is actually supposed to prevent--and the rest of us non-compliant people will be wiped out. All that will be then left will be those who follow orders and do as they are told. Kinda like the Nazis who marched all the Jews and Gypsies to the camps....

I don't mind being told what to do. Happened to me for years and years while employed. My wife will tell me "what to do" and I will hop right to it and do it. Absolutely no problem. A law enforcement officer will tell me what to do and I will definitely do it.

I won't. "Lawful commands" are one thing. If he/she insists, I do it and note my protest.
