It sounds like he might be someone who could run for a higher office, but even if he got the presidency, he would not be the first black American, since Obama has that claim.
Tim Scott is impressive. While I doubt that I'll be voting ever again, if I were to vote, I could see myself voting for him, although I'd do a little more homework before I did that.

Black American is in reference to those from southern American slavery roots, or it once was. Barack Obama is not a "Black" American. He had no American slavery roots.
