I hope you're not going to pose on it like muscle-guy. He appears rather badly photo-chopped in there.
@John Brunner looks good - the trampoline woke up teary eyed this morning, as I am wondering if I have lost my mind ordering this. I can barley move at times due to different forms of arthritis . Back using the cane and sitting for a minutes is a killer. Mine has already shipped, so guess I will see what happens later. Hoping not to have wasted the money on me. I want so much to be active as possible.
Just to sneak in on the conversation, before you start “bouncing”, have you considered getting some preparatory coaching from a physical therapist? Obviously I wouldn’t know if it would be covered by your insurance but a therapist could be quite helpful for achieving better balance and even some bouncing techniques to help maximize the trampoline’s effectiveness given your present condition with arthritis and such. Gaining confidence is also a hard thing to do sometimes and a therapist might help you build a load of that too.
I wouldn't worry if your aspirations outrun your current abilities, Gloria. Worse yet would be to have no aspirations in the first place. I agree with Bobby's advice. Perhaps asking your doctor as well would be a good idea. A quick internet search indicates that rebounding is safe (and often recommended) for people with arthritis. If your feet don't leave the surface (meaning you control the pace), there's virtually no impact. But a lot depends on your degree of mobility. Here's a video by an instructor who shows proper form and posture while on there. Here's a video with the same instructor and her grandmother, rebounding side-by-side at different paces. I'm not sure that the bars are strong enough to hold an adult's weight...they're there as a steadying device. I think Yvonne said she used her rebounder in the corner so she could have the walls available to catch herself if need be. Having your husband stand nearby just-in-case would be a good idea (especially when you mount/dismount), and you would be inching him closer to using it himself That might be a good way to safely start and go from there.
Sometimes, relaxing and wanting to do a little at least, I just sit down on the trampoline and bounce gently for a while. I might still fall off, or fall over, (especially if I lean far over to play with or wrestle the dogs) , but I'm so close to the floor it doesn't matter ! haha!
I ordered mine at 10PM last night and just got an email that it will be here tomorrow! I don't understand how some of this stuff works. I often get the same level of service from Walmart, and I'm kinda out in the boonies.
This might help understand some of how they sometimes deliver so fast> (various enterprises) (not usually mom and pop friendly like the little cafe and hardware store used to be locally) https://fba.help/list-of-amazon-fulfillment-centers Thousands of warehouses already full of millions of items.
Interesting. Virginia has 4 warehouses with 8.4 million people over 43,000 square miles. Kentucky has 14 warehouses with 4.4 million people over 40,000 square miles. I know there's more to logistics than this (a chunk of Virginia's population is concentrated in the north and likely served by DC or Maryland centers) , but still...
I believe Kentucky was one of the original distribution centers for Amazon; they hire a huge number of seasonal employees and many full-time RVers work there for travel money.
That's pretty cool. I like to see people use jobs in order to manage "non-traditional" lifestyles. Leveraging capitalism to be nomads...
Yeah, they're hired for something like September-December, but I understand the work is grueling 24x7 shifts. Since many fulltime RVers are retirees, it must be tough but the pay is fair.
No, have never thought of that. I have to make this work, even if only a bit at a time. One step at a time, and we will see what happens. I decided if I can not use it and he still refuses.. Merry Christmas GD
I think in part at least - depends on where it is coming from, and if their warehouse how close that is to you. I have noticed that ton some shipments here.
