So many "what's your favorite..." questions I've answered in my lifetime... but what's on the opposite end of the spectrum? What do you hate... detest... abhor? (Naming foods is not allowed here... there's already another thread about that.) 1. I hate injustice. Whether it's directed against other adults, children, or animals... I will never sit by quietly when I see injustice happening. 2. I hate (with a fiery passion, I might add) being shut up when I wasn't finished talking or with my thought. I consider it arrogance of the highest degree for someone else to decide when *I* am finished expressing myself. 3. I hate.... hmmm... I guess I don't hate much. Oh, dishonesty when it comes to building someone's agenda... aka fraud. 4. I hate homelessness and hunger. And the fact that people who could maybe make a difference are kept busy having to deal with ludicrous PC stuff and injustice to humanity. Well now... full circle. That brings us back to #1! Who wants to add something?
This isn't really a food but how careless they are in transport. Lately I've opened so many packages that the product was in pieces. Popsicles that are broken, some very thin almond cookies that were in pieces, I think there were only 4 whole cookies in the pkg. and with these cookies it's happened twice. So far I haven't returned anything but next time I will. I'm tired of paying for crumbs. Glad I got that off my chest, I was going to make a post about this but changed my mind. Fits here nicely.
To be honest I don't hate anything these days, I have become pretty beige in my old age. I do not like certain individuals human traits, but tend towards looking at why they are behaving in that way and attempting to see their inner pain. I would put Greed as the big negative thing in civilisation at the moment, it drives people and governments to do terrible things, it also creates despotic leaders who are greedy for wealth and power at all costs. Abuse especially of women and children I find difficult to bear.
hehe Now, Lara... no splitting hairs. You know what I meant. For @Lara Moss I'll rephrase that to "what do you dislike?"
What do I hate? ... Snakes and roaches ... and wolf spiders Humidity Driving in the rain Parents who laugh at their children misbehaving Newscaster banter Changing clocks Spring & Fall When my pen runs out of ink When batteries die in anything Not ever seeing my best friends OK .. rephrase it .... I very much "dislike" the above ...lol
You go, @Bonnie Thomas ! Many of the same would be on my expanded list. I don't have experience with roaches... I think I've only seen one or two in my lifetime... one on Capitol Hill, D.C. (truly, not a joke... I don't mean a politician, it was in a restaurant there one morning!) and the other in Orlando... but snakes absolutely. Humidity is terrible for me... thinking naughty kids' behavior is "cute" drives me batty... I totally dislike Daylight Savings Time... I'm a standard time type of gal... I LIKE having dinner when it's dark. Great list, Bonnie!
First, the word "hate" seems like such an angry word to use. But, then again, it's really the only word that does fit certain things. Saying "what angers you", "what upsets you" and "what do you dislike" all sound so passive, in a way. Animal abuse Child abuse aka people who have children that shouldn't Spousal abuse.......men and women who are married that shouldn't be When the computer slows down and/or locks up
Yep, it does, @Cody Fousnaugh ... but you're right, it does fit. And it's not a taboo word by any means... I don't want to turn my thread religious because it's not in the right section but... well, "there are six things God hates...." stated in proverbs, so how bad can the word really be if even God hates? Excellent list... and I agree with every one of them!
Intolerance goes to the top of my list; I just can't be doing with people that discriminate against other human beings because of their race, gender, sexual preferences, creed, etc. Greed figures pretty highly, too, along with all of its side effects like inequality, injustice and environmental destruction. On a minor level, advertisers and marketing people...I agree with the late, great Bill Hicks. Shoot yourselves.
Ok, hating broken cookies seems a little childish compared to abuse, intolerance, etc. but they make me very angry.
