I think it's very hard to answer that because different president were better at certain things than others and vice-versa. No one was perfect. That said, I'd probably vote for George Washington. He was an excellent diplomat, understood the back country and its people in addition to the landed gentry, understood (with the help of Hamilton) banking and the need for a national bank, was an excellent strategist in both war and peace, was a very good politician for the country (not just for his state), etc., etc.
I voted for Trump but it was more so voting against Biden.Trump has a way with words and tslks a good talk but he also enacted 2 unconstitutional bills Asset Forefiture and Antisemetic Hate Crime . First off,I don't beleive in any anti hate laws seems double jeopardy to me. I guess I'm more Independant than Repulican. I'm for capitalism but against chrony capitalism.I don't beleive in government bailouts or special laws for anyone.Until we lost America guess I was more of a Consitutionalist.
Each presides over a different time. Eisenhower was elected to get us out of our only truly unconstitutional war, and he did that, then he basked in the glory that was the post-WWII era when the U.S. was king of everything. Certainly he was a good one, but there were a few others, among which I would name Reagan, Trump and Nixon (believe it or not!). I once held Jimmy Carter as our worst president of the modern era, but he has now bee surpassed by Obama and now Biden--by far the worst. Biden has done more damage to the nation in a few months that Obama did in 8 years.
Reagan gave amnesty to millions of illegals then they brought in multimillions through the family reunification act plus Reagan and Oliver North created the Taliban using Russia as their reasoning . He was liek Trump in many ways an ex democrat turned repulican with no experiance of war or leadership. I'm basically of the idea that they all work harder at being elected and telling us sweet little lies than doing what is best for our nation. Every president we have had in past several decades has not made America any better in fact it has gotten worse with every passing year. But then Americans ain't what they use to be either.Since the 50s all we do is bow and beg for forgiveness for the same things the rest o the world is forgiven for . Take slavery for instance which all of my family was totally against and always despised it.Yet Portugal,Spain and especially Africa had slave ships coming to the Americas long before the settlers did but since they can't be flesced like we can since they are not a rich nation its ignored or not mentioned. Africa still has slaves and always have had they sold their own peoiple all over the world long before America was a gleam in the eyes of Europe. I wonder where all the African Americans think they will go once they help take us down? Many are now realizing they have no place better to go but its too late for us all now.But still 98^% voted for Obama and Biden. What has the socialist done for poor whites or blacks? No history taught to anyone just propaganda, lies and indoctrinations to keep the fat cats fat.
Naming a GREAT PRESIDENT is akin to stating "he is a GREAT DOCTOR". There simply ain't NO SUCH THING. Each leader's attributes and drawbacks may be cussed and discussed, to little avail. If it were truly "Of, by, and for the PEOPLE", the President's true value would be dubious. Frank
Oh, I understand that Reagan wasn't perfect, nor was Trump, but they both did the best they could for the country as they saw it. Reagan's amnesty was accompanied by a promise form the Democrats that they would seal the border. He dealt in good faith, not knowing that you cannot trust a Democrat-led Congress, much less an administration of such to keep any deals. Experience in Washington is generally a bad thing, not a good one. Reagan was governor of the largest (population) state for two terms. That is experience in leadership. Eisenhower, while a political military guy with little combat experience, led the allies to victory in Europe and was a good president. The most qualified of all to be president was George H.W. Bush, and, while he managed to unite much of the world against Saddam Hussein, was not a very good president overall. Trump, too, had leadership experience but of a different type. He did the best for the nation as he saw it but was pilloied by the media and the establishment because he didn't follow the rules as they saw them.
This too is true even Washington and Jefferson had disputes about war in particular the Barbarians of Ivory Coast,Washington wanted to keep paying ransom for our kidnapped merchant seamen and women aka the golden women which they sold to rich arabs or African leaders. But Jefferson said no more ramson. So he created international Navy and marines. So off to ' the shores of Tripoli ' to stop the pirates.
And might I mention that other than those who died whilst in office, Donald Trump is probably the only President who walked out of the oval office with less money than he walked in with.
@Beth Gallagher Girl, yer out on a limb now, be careful! I expected much derog from my post........appreciate your honesty and understanding! Frank
I agree that Kennedy was more conservative and patriotithan most of tthose who followed him. Remember Kennedy and Eisenhower both warned of us The Miltary Industrial zconplex" of course they were not saying not to have a strong military but to watch those who wil use it to their own advantage in useless wars for profit. I didn't agree with Kennedy about many things but this I did after seeing the horror of wars up lose aand personal visiting vets in hospitals. Most od our GOP are RINOS anyway. First off some say Eisenhower was wrong so I put this up first for counter referenceing. https://breakingdefense.com/2021/01...ry-industrial-congressional-complex-turns-60/ Beware The Military Industrial Complex, https://slate.com/news-and-politics...ddress-has-been-completely-misunderstood.html I google what I'm looking for and paste site it referes too
