I wasn't sure what Tic-Tok was until you asked the question. After thinking about it I have to agree with myself that I don't need it. You might enjoy it. The last game I played was with my two grandsons. I played five holes and had to quit, I was so short of breathe. That's been manys moons ago now.
You ask I answered in a kidding type of way sometimes I like silly at times.I get plenty enough serious now a days.
This and WhatsApp are the only social media I use. I use WhatsApp daily to speak to my children and grandchildren. I ditched Facebook years ago and haven’t missed it a bit. Never had a Twitter or Instagram account.
Social media media in general seems like too much work to figure out, and then too fragmented to get much value from. For me anyway! Right now I've got a Facebook account that's used only for accessing businesses or other entities which can only be accessed on Facebook --- like Friends of the Library was down in Florida when I lived there. Due I guess to a personality quirk, I'm much better at mastering a diary format than a forum of any sort. Got burned out on political discussion forums back in 2000, largely because I didn't like the way they made my Inner Karen come out in response to everyone else's Karens. Tried Open Diary for a while, until my old computer got too feeble to function on the internet at all a few years later. I sort of liked OD, and looked for it when I came back online in 2017, but of course it was gone. Now there's Prosebox, which brings out my Inner Goof, a persona I find much more likeable.
The problem is Whats App is own by face book. It is my wife's favorite I switched over to Telegram and it is so far not censored
By and large, I don't do social media. Other than this site, I am active on a world-wide moto-photography website and some tech sites but that's it. Even my YouTube videos are unlisted.
The only one I belong to and actively participate in is this one. The other senior forum didn’t cut it after a while. I belong to a Subaru Impreza forum and a fishing forum but don’t actively participate anymore. Then there was one for motor scooters and astronomy. I would not touch FB, Twitter and the other popular ones with a ten foot pole. I joined Gab but their website doesn’t seem to work well. As a conservative voice they are being screwed with by the big tech companies.
I am very active on telegram and chatting with people all around the world like Russia, Iran, Israel, Australia and of course US/CA . finding out what is really going on and not what you hear on the so called news. Also participate in Natural healing.
When I moved to this rural county (only 100 miles from DC) I was surprised to meet a large number of folks who have never been on the internet. They've never "done" social media. They have never even had an email account. I have a friend who runs a very active non-profit and is on dial-up. Oddly enough, they seem to be happy. Go figger.
My sister and BIL do not have internet access in the south GA boonies and have never wanted to have it. When we visit I have to use my phone as a hot spot if I want to go online.
It sounds like you're lucky to even get a cell signal there. There are lots of folks here who do not, or they have to go to a certain spot of their homes to get a bar or two.
What I like about Facebook is, "Snoozing a person for 30 days" or just plain "Unfriend" them. I just "snoozed" my SIL (wife's sister) because of some things she posts to us. I have told her before, "if we (wife and I) don't like something, we just don't like it" and she will keep asking "why?". It's no wonder why her brother, my wife's younger brother, doesn't like talking to her on the phone or whatever. Then, after 30 days, if she keeps up with why I "snoozed" her in the first place, I will then "Unfriend" her. I tell me wife what I've done and she completely understands. Then, when she asks me "what happened to you on Facebook?" I simply say, "I don't know". Heck, I "Unfriended" our great-niece, because she done a Facebook page and then never posts anything.
i just come in here...don't have friends...just happened that way.....so...no fb.......i do have a husband and one little dog now.. it does get a little sad...i just forge thru
