Happy New Year to the Seniors Only Club Crew, all of you, especially to @Hedi Mitchell, who occasionally inquires of my well being when I don’t report in for a while. Thanks.
Sparkling Light by Howard Levy "To welcome 2022, I decided to do an improvised composition hoping for brighter days. I improvised the piano part from images in my mind- the melting of a frozen lake and the start of Spring. Then I wrote out a chord chart and overdubbed my harmonica part, also improvised".
I'm sitting here looking out my back window, staring at a young blue jay as he stares back at me. He's drinking water and then looks right at me as I look at him. Yet I don't know what he can see. Can he see though the glass and between the blinds? As he stares at me does that bring any thought to his small head such as: "I thought the days of the dinosaurs were over but would you look at that?" I saw a program about Octopus the other night. It suggestedwe are learning much more about the species, both here and in Australia. One man and his son and daughter kept an octpus in their home for a year or there about and the creature and the man and his daughter interacted with one another. It did give me the impression some Octopus might have equal smarts as some upright creatures I have seen moving about. Myself not excluded you understand.
As I sit here reading and writing I have been enjoying a small snack that was brought to me: a breakfast burrito with Picante hot sauce spread over it. It also came with a knife, fork, and spoon in case I wanted to butcher it to fit my mouth or spoon out some more sauce. I'm about to develope a taste for a good burrito.
