Dear Mz, Faye, thank you for your most excellent advice. You are getting better at this.

It was a lovely evening. We had a few drinks then had a delicious meal. We talked about old friends, old memories, and laughed at some of the silly things we used to do. It was so romantic until near the end……..

He asked me if he could tell me something highly personal. I said, “Of course. You can tell me anything.”


Then he told my he was gay. He had stayed in the marriage for the sake of the children. Now they were all grown and out on their own. He has a lover in San Francisco and he wants to divorce his wife and marry his lover. He needs $120,000 to fund the divorce and set himself and his lover up in housekeeping. He wants me to lend him the money. He said he will pay me back plus interest as soon as they get settled and he finds a job.

Please advise.
