I have a grocery order coming this afternoon so I ordered some deli tuna salad and bakery croissants. We'll have sandwiches and chips for dinner today. I have some ripe bananas that I need to use so I guess I'll whip up some banana bread for later.

I stumbled across a recipe for bolognese pasta sauce that I've been meaning to try. It's in the Crock Pot now, should be ready for a late dinner, along with Italian bread & a salad. It's a change-up for me...my pasta sauces rarely contain meat, and this is like Sloppy Joe mix for spaghetti.

They were good. Wife said she had made them a few times during my working years, but I thought they were a new thing. She used her home-ground buckwheat flour as a binder and some spices I don't remember, but they were worth repeating.

The better half had dinner with his mother this evening so I made myself a ham and swiss cheese sandwich on homemade bread with 'tater chips and a beer. Later I had a slice of banana bread with my coffee.

My wife has found she cannot tolerate grains very well, thus the buckwheat.

Later today, it's TJ's sockeye salmon filets that have been thawing out in the fridge. It's
only me and I eat when I want to. Their frozen fish pkgs are great and affordable since fish prices are skyhigh more than ever.

I stopped bringing breads into my house over 10 yrs ago, long story, and I keep a stock
of gluten free crackers for snacking, little sandwiches and these are the grain products.

I'm trying a new crock pot recipe for beef tips to serve over rice or noodles. Right now I'm not impressed by the way it smells; the recipe called for 1/4 cup of "gravy mix" which should have been a red flag. o_O I hope I haven't wasted 2 pounds of beef stew meat.

So for dinner today it's Questionable Beef Tips, rice, green salad.
