The pit --- 5 hours later my 1/2 acre yard is edged, weed eaten, blew, and mowed. My clothes are totally soaked with sweat. High is predicted today at 110.

The peak -- I beat the heat and I am still alive and only mildly damaged. It was 90 when I finished, so now stripped down to sports briefs and sports crop top, I am letting the AC blow on the soaked fabric. It is very refreshing. Now time for ice cream.

Pit -- Predicted to be 76 degrees with no breeze for my 3 AM patio workout in the morning. Low 70 at 5 AM.
Peak -- To be determined tomorrow.

Pit: I've still not scraped together the motivation to do the things that need to be done. An object at rest...

Peak #1: I picked up my new glasses this morning. I got easily-cleaned glass lenses to replaced the constantly-smudged plastic ones. I've got a slight headache from wearing the old script for a week and now going back to the current one...but I can see better.

Peak #2: While I was in town I shopped for a flank steak to make tonight's dinner and found a London broil hitting its expiry date that was marked down from $9.50 to $5.80! Sold, baby. It's in the crock pot as I type.

I started the day by dropping a full cup of coffee all over and end table and between two recliners. At 5:30 am that is not a good start. Spent two hours at doctor office with hubby, getting info on some tests to be done. Nothing wrong per sae but since the men in his family are dropping like flies, I having him tested.
Not up to snuff lately, so staying still and nodding off here and there. Peak- I am alive and better off than most ;)..it is 108 on our a patio:eek:

Pit: I'm kind of bummed because a friend from the BC forum died yesterday. She was so kind to me when I was first diagnosed; it was like a gut punch to hear that she died. Effing cancer.

Peak: My son and his family are coming this weekend. I'm SO EXCITED!!! :D:D

My oldest son and his wife just arrived in Huntsville from north Idaho a couple of days ago, so I am excited about seeing them again, too. It has been about a year since I have seen them, and once a year is about as good as it gets for that far away.
However, they will be staying out here for a while and living in my daughter’s house (she is working in the Netherlands); so I will be seeing them a lot more often now, at least potentially.

They are coming over to see us this afternoon, so I have been making potatoe salad and deviled eggs and Bobby will make the BBQ for our dinner tonight. SO HAPPY ! !

I am 78 in a few months I'll be 79 and my current world was just shattered last night. My daughter and her family who live in the apartment in our house, inform me and my wife last night that she is separating from her husband, he will be moving back into his parents home about 20 miles away. This morning he moved out with a lot of sadness for me and my wife.
I'm concerned with my wife, she's been through a lot medically and now this has got her really upset. We didn't see this coming, we knew our daughter would have a flare up once in awhile, but it didn't seem to reach this level.
Aside from that I've been concern with my wife before this, she's been a little depressed and not eating like she should be. Last week while at MSK Cancer Center she spoke to them about her State of Mind and they are assigning her a counselor.
On top of all that my sister who is 95 was put in hospice 2 days ago they don't give her much time.
I'm doing the best I can to help all, I've never considered myself a quitter, but sometimes.......

    PEAK
Chatting on SOC, keeps me busy and supplies some entertainment.

Peak: Took our boat out yesterday AM and was totally shocked at what a local marine service had done to it. We were told: new spark plugs installed and replacement of the prop. The boat started right up, just like it had EFI (Electric Fuel Injection), but definitely doesn't. Have never had the boat start that quick! Got out in open water on local lake, hit the throttle, got up on plane and was flying down the lake. This boat has never/ever run this good, since we bought it in 2009. I put a great review on the marine service's Facebook page.

Pit: After we got home from our boat storage and unhooking the boat/trailer, the muscle pain and some cramping set in. A nice shower and then came the ibuprofen and CBD Rub. But, muscle pain/cramping sure was worth seeing how good the boat runs now.

Tony, I'm so sorry that your family is having so many tough situations right now. Your wife's mental outlook is very common among cancer patients, so a counselor is a very good idea. I hope your daughter (and grandkids?) will be OK after the split. Maybe they'll be able to patch things up after things cool off. Sorry to hear about your sister, too. You are just being hit from every direction right now, so take care of yourself and keep your chin up. Sending a big hug to you.

Peak: My son and his family are due here any minute!!! I'm so freakin' excited to see them. I haven't seen them in such a long time. They will only be here overnight and will go home tomorrow since they have to work on Monday.

Pit: I've about pooped out trying to get everything ready but right now I'm sitting down with my feet up.

It all hits a the same time, don't it? As Beth said, you wife getting a counselor with this extra stress is about the best thing she can do for herself. Do you have someone you can talk to (besides us?) It may not "fix" things, but it may help just to organize your feelings and vent a little. I'm sorry about your sister. I cannot recall...is she local to you?

Man, if I lived closer I'd take you fishing, and we could have the "At least I'm not a worm" talk.
