Sadly, the OP has left the building. Don't know the back story, and it's none of my business. I don't post on here very often, and I find myself increasingly disinterested in the "topics" being created. They are almost always retreads of early ones, and I also, as a rule, avoid any thread about tattoos or what real cowboys wear, or about a miracle supplement that cures all, or about the latest honest to God real conspiracies. The OP and several others usually provide interesting threads and posts, but those folks are a diminishing presence.

    I miss Lon Tanner.

Anyone who doesn't like the topics here is invited to start more interesting ones. I don't mean that sarcastically; that's the best answer to topics that don't interest you.

I've found that this forum is just not for me. I'm a Democrat and from what I've read here in several threads, we "liberals" are not welcome. I don't understand the mindset of trump lovers. If you can't see what his plan for this country is, then you're blind and it will eventually make itself clear if he gets back into office.

There was a poster who asked what has Biden done for the people. I'd like to ask what has trump done to make your life better. He's always been a liar and a con man and his sole purpose is power. He wants to be like Hitler and control the world. He wants to destroy this country and make it a dictatorship.

I just don't belong here. I've read many nasty things in this group and I get so upset with what you're saying and what you've been brainwashed into believing, that it's not worth it to be a part of this group.

    Good luck to you.

If the only reason a person joins a multi-tiered forum is to find like minded people in a political arena, then yeah, I see your point.
There are many left wing and right wing forums out there which you can easily find that just deal in politics but that’s not the main focus here.

The reason this forum is multi-tiered is because there’s MORE here than just politics or religion for that matter. If for whatever reason a person can’t find what they want in a forum, as Ken said, start a thread on something you are interested in and leave the politics behind.

Well, I've left this forum a few times, just to return. I've been suspended for a week, allowed to return and did. For the most part, I find Ken's forum highly, and at times, very highly, interesting. Not all topics I do as an OP, are agreeable and some can be pretty controversial, but I still do them. I've come to learn, since being on this forum, that there are those that will agree with me and those that don't. It's very nice to be "agreed" with, but have to understand why there are those that don't.

As far as new topics go, I'm seeing Ken put more and more interesting topics/threads on this forum all of the time.

Bottom Line Is: Most-to-all of the time, I find the forum very interesting as well as all of the replies the same way.

Everyone has to do what works for them, but I have found that there are differences in political opinions everywhere you go and we need to learn how to deal with them. All of us have to make choices and good luck to you.

This may not be the thread for this. But for one thing, Trump had us energy independent. Biden took that away and put us on the road to uncertainty and possibly on war's doorstep. I do know we tend to appreciate what Trump was capable of to help the country and you have read things that struck a cord, but you come back after a question about Biden with severe insults instead of answering the question. I find that interesting.

Mary, I still wish Kay would stay, it is more interesting debating with those we differ with than those we agree with.

It saddens me to see you go because you feel outnumbered. I understand your reasons but I would like to point out that there are several here that while they lean conservative, are in fact independent. I for one have never and will never be a member of a political party. My reasons are that they decide how you should think and what you should accept as the truth.

I base my political and religious beliefs on my experience and that of my ancestors, American Indian (Chickasaw and Black), German Sinti (what Hitler called Gypsies), French Canadian, and Scottish outcasts. I don't like the former Pres. Trump, but I do like what he did in securing the USA and building up our reserves, and bringing jobs back to the USA. I don't like his association with narcissists like the Pillow Guy but I understand because old Donald himself has some narcissism and an inflated ego.

On the other hand, I look at Biden who has a documented history of racism and sexism, and sexual assault on females and was friendly with known members of the Klux Klux Klan. I look at the documented dealing using his son with China and Ukraine. Years ago that was considered treason to take money in return for political favors in the USA. I look at how he has caused my money to buy a lot less just in the last two years. I look at several foods I buy that have doubled in price. I look at the outrageous gas prices and study Biden's explanations that make no sense. I use my own brain and experiences to make my decisions on political matters.

I have seen firsthand the destruction of Democrat-funded Antifa. I have seen all races in my community where Latinos are a majority, take up arms and stand their ground when Antifa (all white kids) was bused in to be the military for the Blacks Lives Matter protest that was all young freaky-looking light-skinned women considered "white." The police both Black, "white," and Latino let the Antifa folks know that if they so much as even got in a local citizen's face they would arrest them. If they sprayed them wiith their bear spray or tried to laser their eyes and one of the citizens shot them, they would still be arrested for assault (if they lived) and no charges would be filed against the citizens defending their bodies, homes, and livelihoods. They got back on their buses and headed to a more friendly town.

Example: My family (some married to former Mexican Nationals) since 1850 has had several thousand acres of ranch land near the Rio Grande in Texas. Despite the drought, while Trump was in office, they survived because the border was being controlled somewhat and the wall would have slowed the thousands that were crossing their land poaching cattle or sheep to enter the USA illegally. Nearly all were males and carrying drugs. Texas law enforcement was handling the situation with support from the Feds. After the first year under Biden, they had a few thousand that set up permanent camps and took over much of their land, and law enforcement could do nothing. They were forced into selling because there was no way to have livestock and make a living or even exist safely. They sold out several months ago at a great loss to a so-called land developer. Guess who funded the seemingly USA Land Company? Chinese investors that are funded by the Chinese Communist party. Under Biden, an alarming rate of land in the Yukon has been bought by China and Russia.

Much of the USA is now owned by the Chinese. In the area, I live at least half the corporate farms are funded by China. Knowing what I do about virology, it all fits with the covid assault by China on the world. No military could have achieved what they did with a lab-created biological weapon. They stopped any good Trump was doing for the USA and the economy and swung the election in their favor. Our entire voting process was disrupted.

So for me, it isn't about liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican, it is about the USA and the loss of freedom and the new military fascist state Biden is creating under the disguise of ARMED Tax Auditors.

If you stuck around, you might learn that one of our highly loved members was an old-line Democrat. He only left because death took him from us. I suspect many more of our treasured long-time members lean left, but they conduct themselves without using hate labels and just repeating things they have no personal knowledge about. It would be nice if some of our conservative members (including myself) followed their example and stuck more to personal experiences and how they were affected than just repeating something they heard.

Also since other senior forums claim a no politics rule but allow only Democrat party line references under the disguise of Hot Button topics, that might explain why so many here lean conservative since they have been silenced on other senior forums.

It is hard to avoid politics since it seems almost everything has been made political, however, this forum does offer a lot of topics and freedom to discuss those topics. Tell us about your interest. Start a diary or read some of the long-established diaries that are kept current.
