It's gonna hit Virginia next Saturday. Friday's forecasted low: 45°F Saturday's forecasted low: 30°F Sunday's forecasted low: 25°F Monday's forecasted low: 28°F
Is the wind from global warming? It just came up. I went to batten down the hatches and all the chickens were in with the sheep, usually a death sentence. But no one was moving. It must have been the warmest available spot. And with the rain, I thought 'If this was snow we'd be snowed in
We sometimes get these winds, but I am in a low spot protected by trees, so the wind doesn't impact me much unless it is tree across the driveway or the road.
We had a glorious Saturday here. I was on the roof working on my solar installation all afternoon. Sunny t-shirt weather followed by a rising full moon with clouds lightly occluding it. My chinajunk camera doesn't do it justice. This is a pixelated zoom-in. Thank you, God.
The winds are coming up big time after the rains. I will have to tie up the big brush piles to keep them from blowing away until I can burn them.
Getting colder daily and morning lows will be in the teens. Had enough of this and looking for apartments in both Arizona and Nevada. Unfortunately, can't move until next summer.
Can't see the video, @Marie Mallery. We were down to -10 F. last weekend, but it is now in the 20s and snowing lightly here.
Power was off for a while, now its back on, but the storm is causing more clean up, Tonight Tropical Storm Conditions Expected Low: 67 °
We're dealing with Tropical Storm/Hurricane Nicole here in Central Florida. Currently 72 and overcast, but the rain has quit. No damage, no power outages to deal with. The east coast got hit pretty hard in some spots.
Virginia's gonna get some rain tonight through all of tomorrow from that Florida storm working its way north. If the forecast is right [insert giggles here] it looks to be a 24 hour event with 3/4" to 1 1/4" total rain. Low Friday night will be 60°F and the front will be ushering in cooler weather Sunday...just about every forecasted night (through Saturday the 19th) the lows will be in the 20s. These transition periods drive me "wood stove crazy," since the temps will be 45°F-50°F in the day, so it does not warrant keeping the fire going...I gotta start it from scratch each night. But I'm grateful that The Chilly is late in coming this year, mostly for those who use a high dollar heating method. Perhaps their Total Winter Bill won't be much higher than normal.
It was 71 tpday! It is raining now and tomorrow is supposed to be 30's. I just dug out some thermal underwear I got last July on sale. I think I will sleep in them ready to jump out of bed tomorrow and face the day with a grin! or not.
