I'm glad you're safely there , @Chrissy Page but what a scare..., it does sound very odd that the cop was in the slow lane if he was on his way to an accident, and why would he wait for you to pull out before he went rushing off to where he was going?...sounds like he was just in a bad mood for some reason...good that you didn't get a ticket tho'..

Ruby you can take the 360 deg view and see inside and outside of the pub...when you go inside the pub from the main entrance then turn left and and go out the door where the blackboard is situated, you'll come onto the decking , and if you turn right up almost immediately up the stairs on the decking it'll show you the canal...just a shame it was such a dull day when they took the video, and no boats on the canal...in the summer it's glorious as it was yesterday in the sun and all the boats were out...

...as you turn right out of the pub and walk along the towpath for 1/2 a mile past where I took the horse picture, the ''tunnels'' are another canal lock and the white building on the bridge is the Church house built if I remember rightly in 1901...and still lived in... it's really pretty...

    I took these pictures yesterday

The little old village church is right next to the house, and hasn't been used as a church since 1971 , although it still has all the graves in it..but instead it's used as a really beauiful old house which has been standing since about the 11th century... this photo I took really doesn't do it justice...

How lovely. Houses in your part of the world seem to last forever. I love that kind of permanence.

@Holly Saunders , There is such hisyory along with the beauty of your photos. When I was young I loved to let stories of your country build images in my mind, and your photos remind me of my fascination with your history. All those royal families and their histories, even the stories of the poor had me riveted to my books. But I admit to me your history is as jumbled as the hodge podge way I read about it.

What countries did you dream of when you were younger?

Oh without doubt the USA Ina...we grew up watching American TV shows....long before we were interested in the very boring ( to us as kids)grown up serious British TV programmes..

I learned so much about the USA when I was small, I once spoke to a guy on a forum from the USA and he said he'd never known anyone who lived outside the US know so much about the ways of the American people as I did... :)...and yet I've never had the opportunity to visit the USA...it's a pity really...

@Holly Saunders , I just loved visiting that Pub in the 360! Thanks for that and the photos. 11th century, wow. Like Ina and Bill, I'm facsinated by your history. I stared at that old white building and tried to imagine who might have walked up that road or looked out of those windows.

Oh, come over to the U.S. someday soon!

Good morning to you all and a Happy Easter, it's surprisingly a sunny morning here, the forecast being for rain and thick cloud, so a bonus which I hope lasts.

Have a great Sunday whether you are celebrating or not.
