Good morning and Happy Easter! Got up late today because Pickles isn't in my room here. The older boys still got stuff for Easter here like iTunes cards, clothes, and chocolates and fun candy. At 11:00 we are going to the country club for Easter Brunch then daughter and I will go see "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" at the movies. Should be a good day.
Not to belabor the point, but distracted and sleepy driving cause a lot of accidents, and perhaps the police officer was afraid that would happen to you @Chrissy Page, and his response was to be angry? I agree, police & other public servants/officials shouldn't berate people, but I can see how (especially if he was heading to an accident) he might have been alarmed/overexcited. Police will often trail people for distances to try to ascertain if there's a problem before deciding whether to stop someone. Who knows what he was dealing with, but thankfully, you arrived alive and in one piece, and are going to have a lovely Easter! Good Morning, Y'all. I heard a beautiful cardinal song, so I threw open the curtain to see the lovely sight, and was greeted by the underside of a stink bug, planted on the storm door...ugh. By then, Ryan was yowling to go outside, but I wouldn't open the door because I banged on the door to get the stink bug off, and it fell down, and got just outside my interior door. Now the door's staying shut until I think it's gone or forget about it. Love the horse & other pics, @Holly Saunders. It's overcast, but not too hot or cold. Everyone is fed by the birds, and they're going to have to wait a while , since I don't care to have the stink bug get inside and smell up the house. Happy Easter, Y'all, hope it's a beautiful day!
I was driving normally Diane just didn't look in my rear view mirror and he had the whole right lane open, there was hardly any traffic on that road. I have no idea what he was thinking and why he didn't have his sirens on to begin with.
He was probably trailing you and running your tag before stopping you, watching to see if you looked in your mirrors. I guess maybe he expected you to see him before he hit the lights. I look in my rear view and side mirrors quite a bit, but that's probably because I've been rear-ended several times. He does sound as if he was at least wound up a bit too tight, if not agitated. I've had a few encounters like that and I always say the officer must have had a fight with his wife that morning/night.
In 50 years of driving I've never had an accident and have only gotten one ticket and that was about 8 yrs ago on that same boring stretch of hwy for speeding. I look too, Diane but this is an empty stretch of hwy. I like to look ahead on there, usually nobody behind me. Yes, where there is traffic I'm always looking in the rear view mirror especially when someone is too close. I was just caught so off guard, I was expecting to hear "do you know how fast you were driving" and instead he starts yelling at me to wake up. I'm just glad Pickles didn't start barking, he was scared too because he jumped in my lap...we must have looked too pathetic, so he apologized.
@Chrissy Page Yes, I'm sure he was responding to something else was my point, and I'm sure you do look in the mirrors. I was commenting that I look back and around way more than others because of the accidents, so I tend to spot the police pretty quickly. Hopefully the experience helped the cop realize he needed to take some deep breaths and calm down before approaching people. This frog came for a visit yesterday, and here's a picture of the stink bug. Of course, the cardinals came back looking for food, so I went out, and the stink bug was waiting. I brushed him away from the door jamb with the broom, as usual. I t stinks out there now, yuck, so I came back inside.
It does give me a different view of police now though. I was always one with the view that they can do no wrong and always felt that the stories about the bad cops were probably not true. My experience yesterday was very minor and it shocked me so I can imagine what it's like when they are beating you for no reason. I'm seeing the other side a little and how something can escalate.
Running in here late with Happy Easter wishes for everyone. I'm so thankful for each one of you. Hope you all have a lovely day. We will go out for dinner most likely. @Chrissy Page ..let us know if you like the movie
Thanks @Ike Willis , sure glad you are back with us, and a very, Happy Easter, to you as well, denise
