I wished both you and Von lived next door. I could load off tons of collected treasures (junk) on Von, and then come over to haul off cookies and any excess of all the fine cuisine you cook. I would bring over microbrew beer to show my appreciation.
I am just reading this morning about the benefits of raisins. I really like raisins and usually put them in the fiber cake, and in my morning cereal; but apparently, it is even healthier when you soak them overnight and also drink the juice. This would probably work fine with the overnight oats breakfasts because the oats and raisins soak overnight in the refrigerator. https://thelostherbs.com/what-happens-if-you-drink-raisin-water/?
My go to snack is mostly 'chips' and dip. Bad habit, but it is what it is. Having my chips to nibble on is satisfying, and it's been this way all of my life.
This week I'm snacking on an old favorite... Triscuit crackers and pepperjack cheese. Cut pepperjack pieces to fit the cracker (note that I resisted saying "cut the cheese"), place on the Triscuit and microwave for about 15 seconds. Yum-mie. Caution: Addictive Substance
I haven't tried the pepperjack, but I sometimes buy the cheddar slices that fit the Triscuit crackers perfectly. I love them.
Those cracked pepper and voo are my favorite Triscuits also and I use both pepperjack and cheddar but never microwaved. I must try that. I used to put pepperjack and prosciutto on Triscuits and put in the oven until the cheese got weepy. They made great hors d'oeuvre for parties. I always sprinkled pimenton hot Spanish paprika on the cheese for more zing.
Many thanks to @Beth Gallagher. I am having Ritz garlic and sea salt crackers with Oregon Bandon cheddar on them, then sprinkled with Pimenton and microwaved for 30 seconds. The microwaving adds a new taste to them. Too lazy to photo so my apologizes to the memory of Lon Tanner.
I like Triscuit crackers. I like most crackers actually! But the Hubs only likes Ritz so that is what we snack on when we have cheese and crackers. Some evenings we will have a few cheese and crackers with apple slices. We like pepper jack, extra sharp cheddar, Monterey jack and Colby on our crackers.
Daggone power of suggestion when it comes to food. Tonight's dinner is gonna include bean soup and Cracked Pepper and Olive Oil Triscuits with Pepperjack Cheese, broiled in my Breville.
I worked for a French company that catered lunch for us every day. Once a week we would have French bread & butter, fruits, cheeses, and yogurt. It was a very refreshing change of pace. I looked forward to it.
