I saw a pigeon in my maple tree yesterday. I know they are a problem in town but that's the first one I ever saw out here in the country. I never realized how big they are. They are almost twice the size of a dove.

I had a blue jay at my feeder today. I'm so excited. It's the first one I ever saw in my yard. I wish Bill Bogs was here so I could tell him.

I love bluejays. Fortunately, they are the most common birds that we get at our feeder, with chickadees giving them some competition.

Wow Shirley ! You really are a birder. I have mostly sparrows, now, after my chicken feed. Barn swallows come later for my mosquitoes.

I had a beautiful good morning song this morning. A cardinal came to my carport and sang to me. He does another song that sounds like cheer-er, cheer-er also.
