The last few times I have gone to the VA, I noticed that some of the employees were wearing masks and some weren't. I was puzzled. The phlebotomist took me into her room and told me, "You can take off your mask now. We only wear them where the cameras can see us and they don't work anyway."
Let's rape them of their connection to humanity as they cannot see the facial expressions of those around them.
That sure isn't the way it is at our newer VA Clinic. If you are seen not wearing one, you will be asked (politely) to put one on. If you don't, the VA Police will be called.
For some months now, doctors' offices have gone "Mask Optional." Until early last month, hospitals still required them. The hospital in my region removed the requirement based upon regional COVID stats, so perhaps your VA hospital is doing the same. Here is a March 3 article on VA hospitals relaxing the requirements. "Moving forward, VA will base its masking guidelines on the VHA COVID-19 Health Protection Levels (low, medium, and high) and healthcare facilities’ conditions."
Actually, those people are unmasked and unvaxxed (for all diseases, not just the made up one), and they are gonna be sitting right next to our kids in public schools. The Illegals have more right than the citizens.
Yesterday was the first time in the last couple of years that a mask wasn't required at the doctor's office. I hadn't been there in a few months, so that rule may have ended months ago,
Alaska is just more rebellious than Colorado. The facility here is almost new too, but it is only a CBOC. I am sure the main clinic in Anchorage still requires masks.
The rules (VA is mirroring CDC) are supposed to be based on transmission levels in each respective community. WH Brings Back Face Masks, Social Distancing for the Unvaccinated The White House is having the NCAA men’s and women’s national championship teams to “College Athlete Day” at the White House on Monday, and the good ol' "masked & distancing rules" back...only for the unvaccinated. Setting aside the fact that this is a pandemic of the vaccinated, and the fact that vaxxed people contract/carry/transmit COVID, how do you put vaxxed and unvaxxed in a room and tell the vaxxed to "mingle freely" and the unvaxxed t0 "stay 6 feet away from everyone else"?
