    SM Councilmember attacked on Promonade

Our Thrd Street Promonanade has been a hugh highlight of visitors coming to Santa Monica. It's been a major focal point in our city for decades, I've enjoyed all it's pleasures for a long time. Eating, shopping, sitting and people watching....and this is a first a councilmember has been attacked by yep, a worthless vagrant, aka homeless psycho.

I suspect there are thousands of mentally retarded people out on our streets. The courts have turned them loose along with the blessing of politicians who found more tax dollars for buying votes and frivolous things like their pay raises rather than keeping institutions open for the mentally incompetent. I personally find those that have tattoos on their faces and head and have implanted horns and other such demented bolts and nuts on various other locations of their anatomy effects my vision. It should be a crime for a tattoo artist to be allowed to disfigure some moronic twit to help him fall further into a twisted existence. I often wondered what would possess someone to do something so stupid. Probably because on any job interview to comply with food stamp and unemployment payouts the interviewer would have a very short interview thereby making the compliance complete for the tattooed moron to continue to live on our dime.. Those huge ugly round ear lobe holes with black coal inserted is particularly nasty.

Items usually left on the truck and taken to the next stop. It happens often here in La.. In this partnership of the USPS
with UPS and FedEx everything gets all messed up after it arrives at the post office. You get an erroneous message saying that delivery attempt was made and not able to deliver contact your local UPS store or etc etc/ We don't have a UPS delivery store and I wouldn't drive from here to the next block to pick up something I already paid to be delivered. I found that when I see those messages it is not the post office and the item is usually always there at the post office waiting to be picked up. They have different tracking systems and are not synchronized to share information between the two. UPS comes 50 miles from Baton Rouge and I don't drive 50 miles to pick anything up unless of course it was a notice I had won the lottery, only then I might make an exception.

YES ……our neighbours house is rented and each winter they are burning something in the slow combustion wood heater that smokes out our home and the neighbours home out cause we both have tiled roofs so there’s gaps for the smoke to get into our ceilings and it’s gets into the house ,

I ve seen them buying bags wood from the one and only supermarket with I’ve noticed is sawn treated pine posts that are normally used for farms fence posts , it’s illegal to burn them as they are treated with arsenic .

Cause it cold I keep my ensuite bathroom door closed in winter and when I opened it last night the room was full of smoke ( it’s got a electric exhaust fans in the ceiling) and that’s where the smoke must be getting in )

We was visiting the neighbours yesterday about 2 pm …( their home is behind ours and the offending neighbour) we live in a corner

Their home was all closed up ….but as soon as the neighbours lit the fire we could smell the smoke in the neighbours home ( same bathroom fans as us ) so it must come in through the fans ) same builder of both our homes, we both have tiled roofs …..offending neighbours have a metal roof ..
with a chimney that lower than our and the neighbours roof

We to have a wood heater but if and when we have it on you can’t even smell any smoke outside/ or inside cause we burn proper dry well seasoned wood , I’m going to pen a letter to the council on Monday as my self and the neighbours are coughing due to this pollution , I’ve looked up SA legalities about wood burning heaters so I’ll be printing it printing it out and putting it in their mail box or looking at taking further action cause it’s effecting our heath.

So now I’ve had my big spit .I feel much better :):D

Oh our homes are fairly close together in Aust unlike some of seen of here that have a fair distance between homes …..the land developers are getting greedier as land for building homes on get smaller and smaller ….some are as small as 3 mtrs wide x 12 mtrs deep to build a tiny dog box home on .
At least we have room for a shed and had a nice size home built on our block that cost us $68.000 in 2004 they are now selling for about 200.000 for a block.

that’s on average 20 mtrs wide x about 40 mtrs deep as our is

A new rant, I showered and got ready to take a nap while watching Judge Judy at 3pm and about 3:45 my window unit did a hard bump and the compressor shut down. I thought to myself "well here we go again, another couple hundred bucks for an air conditioner that cannot keep up with the tremendous heat in this end of the house or my bedroom. I pulled the front face off and cleaned the evaporator again but I noticed when I pulled the two switch knobs that I had it turned on low and the thermostat low, so the thing probably just shut down due to extreme overheating. It certainly did not reach thermostat temperature. I still cleaned it again and it came back on and is running the same now. I know they use thermal resistors on the compressors to keep them from self destructing. The larger units have the switch built inside of the compressor to get faster shut down. This little one I don't know and wouldn't waste my time trouble shooting it. I had an expensive Frigidaire in the kitchen and it just stopped one afternoon and would come back on after it had cooled but I believe it has a thermal inside the compressor, never the less if it does there has to be wires coming out and back to the power circuit. It would be easy to cut and splice to make it run again.

I sat it on the kitchen table two years ago and for a long time the cats would eat their meals on top of the thing. In a pinch I could make it run if it were the thermal shut down. It cools great while it runs so it tells me there is nothing wrong with the compressor. Now it could also be the sensor on the evaporator bad, if that is the case I have a brand new one the digital type on the old large air that was replaced by it. I had attempted to repair it to run buying a new start capacitor and that sensor with no luck so that unit is probably compressor bad or the circuit board. I hate all this digital garbage because it is operating in the worst possible environment but it is cheap for them to build these new ones. If you want a good mechanical control air conditioner it actually cost more to have the switch knobs rather than digital circuits. It was like 72 this morning early so that is why I had the unit on low, it was comfy up until 3 when that sun was high on this side. I think it will be alright and the next few days we will have those extreme hot days again. Tomorrow I am going out and see how much angle there is on the back of the unit to see if I should raise it up a bit to keep the sweat water up around the condenser. That splashing water inside the case helps to cool it. It might be losing to much. I had a problem with the water coming into the window inside down my Venetian Blind so when I replaced it with this unit I made sure I had some drop on the back of the unit. I have never had a moment of trouble with the unit. Next one will be larger!!!

I put my big chest freezer in the garage, figuring that it would use no energy in the winter. But the green light bulb that indicates it is on must have burned out and when I saw nothing, I freaked. I would have to find another huge freezer, an upright would not hold enough. And the thought of transferring all the contents was daunting because of moving half full freezers around to get a new one in the same position of the first one...
But I went to do chores first and when I got back the freezer was running.

Not much to rant about for a change. I was pretty PO'd about the clogged toilet yesterday (grandkid in the house) but the plumber got us fixed up for a mere $140. Worth every penny.

When I moved into my small 600 ft² house in the mid 70s, it had an oil floor furnace and no a/c. A friend gave me an old used 11,000 BTU Sears Coldspot window unit. Except for the windows, that house was pretty well insulated...it was cinder block from top to bottom with plaster walls. That place would get darned chilly. I only replaced that unit when I upgraded to a central system neatly 20 years later.

A few days ago I thought I smelled gas in my kitchen (I have a propane stove.) It didn't make sense that a leak would develop, and the smell was not really stronger around the stove and it did not build. This morning I pulled out the fridge & scrubbed the floor under it, pulled out the appliance stand & scrubbed the floor under it, washed out the trash can, etc. Yet the smell lingered. I noticed it was strongest when I would walk past the fridge, as though some odor was leaking from the fridge around the gaskets...but it smelled fine inside.

I finally got out the step stool and looked on top of the fridge where the baskets for potatoes, onions, garlic, etc are. There were three onions that were completely rotted...and they stank. I guess the sulfur in the onions is what made me think of a gas leak.

Of all my years of cooking, that's the first time I've experiences that.

Yep, gotta keep track of that stuff we allowed to rot. I clean my ice box every ten years if it needs it or not. Got a sack full of rotted taters I bought years ago. One of these days I'll throw them out :D

I'm convinced that old taters were the inspiration for "The Hills Have Eyes."
