There’s another thread called “How about Etiquette, How about Manners, Do’s and Don’t’s.
Proper etiquette dictates that one should ask permission to touch another person’s child.

I don’t care if it’s the President of the U.S. or someone at the local grocery store; ya don’t touch another person’s child (or grandchild) without asking permission.

Except that the Biden administration is trying to eliminate gas appliances. e.g. furnaces, water heaters and stoves

What is sick is that you support a known pedophile like Biden. Sessions and Biden have known each other for a very long time, and Sessions is fully aware of Joe's past, and was just protecting this little girl. "Give it a rest"? Maybe in Canada, not here.

I agree, but the title of the thread (that was merged) was pretty over-the-top.

It’s interesting, there’s the saying about “pressing the flesh” for politicians out among the public. On the other hand, for 20+ years after I left the lab, I was in sales and marketing positions. We had seemingly endless annual courses we had to complete on all kinds of things. Among them was how to conduct yourself with people. The handshake is commonly accepted during introductions but other than that it was repeatedly hammered home to us in our professional capacity, NO TOUCHING!

Maybe being a politician is not considered being a professional? [sarcasm]

Particularly when women were finally able to vote, kissing babies was a way to garner the new votes. There is a possibility that even now, there are some who think that a child getting a kiss or touch from the President or candidate is some kind of status symbol or even blessing but to be sure, asking for permission to do so is in order.

371 days until our next Presidential election. We started with 1,460.

I’d like to write an “only” before the 371 but to think about it, it “only” took the Biden.administration less than 7 days to start demolishing the U.S.

I was going to start a thread to serve as a countdown until the next Presidential election and what Biden does each day of that countdown to serve as a sort of historical log that we can all reflect upon.

To tell the truth though, there isn’t a whole lot that he does each day that would merit that much reflection. I mean, what does he actually do? His handlers do all the work and he just signs his name and stumbles through a bunch of speeches.
I mean, on day 371 he and Jill gave away a bunch of candy on the White House lawn to some political friend’s kids and on 370 he gave kudos to the UAW for coming to terms.
At least on those two days he didn’t represent his string pullers and propose giving away a few more billion more dollars that we do not have.

Then there’s the deal where it has been reported that he has spent nearly 40% of his tenure on vacation, which, so far that amounts to about 370 days or to put it in better terms, more than a full year.
Imagine having a job like that. Ya have a 4 year contract and can take a year + off for vacationing.
    I digress.

No, I think such a venture as creating a countdown would, in some ways create unneeded stress and in other ways be totally fruitless.
That said, maybe it would be a good thing because then, as we check off each day like a prisoner counting the number of days until his release, we can take some relief knowing that we have only so many days left for this disaster of a Presidential Administration to end.

If we end up in war by his handlers, doesn't that make it so the election is cancelled?

To the best of present knowledge, only if martial law is declared which would mean that the military would have to get involved with governance.

And, just as a matter of speculation, nation wide martial law would most certainly start a very violent civil war within this country.
We came very close to it during the Covid scare and let’s face it, the scare of death by virus was effective and the military wasn’t needed to enforce the governmental edicts.
