It's another filthy wet and cold day, though at least we seem to have been spared the polar wind that we had yesterday. Outside, gulls and crows appear to be engaged in an extensive shouting match. With little incentive to go outside, I will do my tax return today. It should be a fairly simple process, as I have channelled my vast wealth into unit trusts in the British Virgin Islands. If it's good enough for our Prime Minister, it's good enough for me.
Mornin. My daily dose of energy is finally kicking in. And it's only 9:30am. I have to wait for my pain meds to work in the morning. Now, I'm waiting for my grocery order to arrive. Then I'll be waiting for the nurse to come, who cancelled out yesterday. I get freakin tired of waiting. Tomorrow I'm going to attempt to do my own laundry. Friday I have an appointment with a doc. Seems my life is suddenly cluttered with stuff to do or places to go. I hate that. I long for the days I could do what I wanted, whenever I wanted. So, be careful out there. Evil is everywhere.
@Terry Page ..hope your friend's son makes it in time...such a sad thing. @Ike Willis ..I totally get what you mean about an uncluttered day. Lol @Tom Locke we just finished our taxes and all my money is"channeled" somewhere else..even I can't find it..lol. @Holly Saunders ..hope your work day and commute go smoothly. Wishing everyone a good day and some reasons to smile sprinkled in.
Good Afternoon, all. I hope everyone's doing o.k. accomplishing much, and/or having a peaceful day. I ran my errands yesterday, and am finishing up a few chores before I take some time to rest. Severe weather came through overnight, but I don't see any damage, thankfully. Hope everyone is having a peaceful day.
Mornin', from sleepless in Iowa. It's a clear 46 degree morning out there at 12:09am. We've been having beautiful weather here and will up to late Sunday, according to the cloud watchers. Well, I'm gonna check my lottery numbers, then see what my son is up to. He works the night shift but goes online during his breaks. Stay thirsty, my friends.
Good Morning @Ike Willis ...and everyone... It's 6.20am...just starting to get light, it's my day off today, but no rest for the wicked, I've got a consultants appointment this morning... Off to have some coffee... have a good day folks...
Good morning everyone, I've been up for an hour, and I can't go back to sleep. Soooo, hi wha' cha' up to? My day is going to be a day of arguing with the a/c repair dudes. They came out Tuesday for maintenance before I turn the three units on for thr summer. They quoted $220., but charged me over $600 before they left, now one isn't working. I'll be calling them in about five hours. Makes me wonder if my appearance just screams out *littlt ole lady*, come and get it. Something tells me this isn't going to work out well.
Sometimes, you have the feeling that things are destined to go wrong from very early in the day. Consider this: 1) Pour tea for breakfast. Handle comes off teapot. Clean break, however. 2) Locate glue in kitchen drawer. 3) Glue refuses to leave tube. Squeeze tube harder. 4) Thumbnail goes through tube. Now glue is all over thumb. 5) Small bout of swearing. 6) Apply glue to teapot and remove glue from thumb. We shall leave it (the teapot, not the thumb) to set and see how it goes.
Thank you @Tom Locke , I needed a giggle. Your right, things get irritating, but they are still part of the day. You should do that more often. I have not seen your sense of humour too often, but it is well recieved by me.
Only day this week we both can stay home. We both went to doctor Monday. Wife went to dentist Tuesday. Yesterday, I went to another doctor, Tomorrow my wife goes to doctor. Today I get to till a flower bed so she can plant two flats of flowers she bought Tuesday.
Good Morning, Y'all. @Ina I. Wonder, is this company one you're familiar with, or someone random you found in the phone book or online? It seems there are many scammers or unqualified doing jobs like that these days. Thanks @Tom Locke I skipped reattaching a sugar bowl handle yesterday, knowing I'd end up covered with glue. I got a chuckle out of your description. It's still overcast, but the sun is making a valiant effort to appear. The vigil continues across the street. As far as I know, she's still hanging on. My thoughts are with @Terry Page and his family. I thought it wasn't going to be a coffee day, but now I'm craving it, so I'll head back downstairs in a few minutes and start a pot. I was just out feeding the birds, and it's much cooler than I expected. I guess I was half asleep when I went out a bit ago to feed the strays, and didn't notice, or perhaps the fence prevented the breeze from chilling me. Have a lovely day, everyone!
My jolt of energy kicked in around 7:30am. By then I had eaten breakfast and had a mug of coffee. So, I did my laundry for the first time since coming home. Daughter did it the first two times. now that I know I can handle it ok, that will take some of the load off her. My next project is to make a store run. Tomorrow looks good for that. I lost 50 Lbs. so far, and still dropping. I'm maintaining the diet the nursing home had me on. Low sodium and I eat the same amounts they served. It's working, and I don't feel hungry between mealtimes. When I got married I weighed 170 Lbs. I'd like to see that again. Weighing 170 Lbs., not getting married again. So, have a great day. Do something fun.
Best wishes for the nicest day! @Ike Willis ..what an impressive weight loss..a few more weeks you're gonna be out disco dancing, Mister . @Tom Locke ..your little fiasco made me smile. Please give us an update on the teapot. Time for scrambled egg on toast! Peace & Love!
Good Afternoon to Everyone. Hope yours is bright and sunny like it is here in Louisiana. @Terry Page So sorry to hear about your brother-in-law's wife...thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. @Ike Willis Do you have that pacemaker set to give you "jolts" of energy at different times of the day? It's good to read your "sharings" again. @Ina I. Wonder How's your volunteering going...and are you making progress on those lap pads, etc.? @Holly Saunders Glad to hear you are seeing some sunshine over there. And to everyone may the rest of your day be blessed in every way.
