Mine was anterior. I researched surgeons and found one with excellent reviews. He was one of two I settled on. I was up and at the barn in two weeks. I tripped and fell a couple of times in a couple of places (once in the hay) but the hip held. One has to be aware of blood sugar as most are type 2 diabetics. I was a bad eater in my younger days. I don't really eat ice cream so much any more but I want to. I can feel if I need to increase my electrolytes and if there is any swelling in my feet I know why. need more potasium. My BP is higher now than when I was 50. But I was very low back then so I am about normal now.--in a way. I grow my own meat, eggs, veggies, mostly. I talk a good game but seldom eat anything to raise my blood sugar. I take so many supplements I probably don't even have to eat I have an exceptional chiropractor and now a myofascial release practitioner who is getting me relief after 7 years of a really bad leg. Maybe when the shtf I will be able to handle more physicality. I take no drugs
My new favorite snack... "Our H-E-B Norwegian crispbreads are made in Norway and are made with a variety of ingredients and flavors! They're a little salty, a little seedy and pack a major crunch. This "everything" version is baked using sunflower, flax and sesame seeds, oats, dried onion, dried garlic, salt, potato fiber and a few other additions. Try them alone or with your favorite cream cheese spread." They are relatively low carb and have a ton of fiber. So yummy.
I should have said "16." I just looked at my numbers going back to 2018. 5.8-5.9 is the norm, with one 6.0 and one 5.7 But that's been my range forever. Fasting Blood Sugar test results are always fine.
Where did the 15 or `16 number come from @John Brunner ? Maybe I am too dense here. As far as "normals" go, each method and location could have slightly different ranges. From my thinking, if you can stay below 6.0 by most methods you are okay. Some will count that as "pre-diabetic" but you shouldn't be subject to many if any diabetes consequences. If you can get below 5 on a consistent basis, it would be good.
I meant "5," not "15." Dunno know what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure that I have never had an A1C below 5. Or I likely had a low one when I was bike riding all the time, but that was before the test was invented.
The test has been around a long time, but it wasn't widely used for a long time. I spent years trying to convince people to use it as a screen for diabetes, but the American Diabetes Association recommended against it as a screening tool for decades until they came around to my viewpoint. The test was originally done using column chromatography so it was not widely available, but once the antigen test was developed, it could be automated and widely used.
You all talk about the A1C test to determine diabetes levels. I don't think I have ever had a A1C test. On all of my blood work it has only shown a glucose test.
The fasting glucose is a your real-time blood glucose level. For people who do not have diabetes, that number should be under 100. The A1C is a 3-month average of blood glucose levels which are a broader indicator of a person's insulin resistance. My doctor has included the A1C in my annual blood work for several years now, perhaps because my brother was diabetic.
Oooook! I wasn't sure. Thanks. I guess I could have looked it up too. My glucose level has always been between 89 and 92.
Ever since I got my air fryer I am hooked on cheese sticks, onion rings and a few others but lost 56 lbs after getting my new leg but I am holding 200 plus minus 3-4 easy now...
