I finally bought a recliner! I kept having trouble trying to find a comfortable spot to sit in my house. I have both lumbar and cervical troubles. If I found something that was good for my neck, then it wasn't good for my lower back. If I found something that was good for my lower back, it wasn't good for my neck. I just couldn't win. With a recliner I am not completely laying flat as I would in a bed, but I have support for my neck and my lower back is mostly stretched out. Only problem I'm having right now is that recliner has moving parts and my balance issues seem to be cropping up a bit, but I hope that my body will adjust to the movement. I can't wait until the medical community comes up with some awesome CURES for spinal issues!
Hi Sarah! Happy that you are finding something comfortable. I am sure that your body will adjust to the balance issues. I would love to have a recliner but just don't have the room for it.
Recliners are awesome, and recliners and ipads are meant for each other ! (At least in my opinion) I love to be able to sit comfortable in a recliner and have my feet up so that the feet and legs don't swell up like they do in a regualr chair, and then the ipad is just the right size to use with the little lap desk. I am sure that you will get used to the chair moving when you get in or out of it. Just try and do it slowly at first if possible.
Hey don't feel bad, I think a recliner is a great type of chair. They are very comfortable, and I don't see it as getting old. I have like recliners for most of my life, this is just great type of chair to sit in. Your right it does help a person to finally get comfortable who has health issues.
Recline and rest now in comfort and joy With such contraption, pleasant dreams employ Sleep now thy beauty sweet For when you wake up, the sunset will greet The most amazing lady it'd ever meet. You... I'd like to have one of those moments with a recliner.
In Florida, we have a love seat recliner that should be labeled, Automatic Sleep machine. Pretty hard not to fall asleep after awhile sitting in these chairs. As far as getting old, we've had them in our house for years. Wouldn't be without one.
I remember recliners were trendy to own back in the 1970s when I was too young to convince my dad to buy one of these for me, despite anyone wanted to have one of these regardless their age. Now that I'm not longer that young, I wouldn't like to have a recliner, but if this would serve to relax with ease and relieve back pain a regular chair cause, I would get one hands down. Reason why I don't longer like recliner it's because they are bulky and I like minimalist furniture to favor visual space.
No kidding! I'm wondering why they haven't already. It can be the most crippling pain. I have my fair share of aches and pains, but nothing will do me in like back pain.
We have a recliner chair that is made of canvas and aluminum frame. When my father in law would come over, that would be his favorite seat especially after lunch. He would take a nap there and stay there while talking to us when he wakes up. How I miss those days when he would come over for lunch. My father in law was a very nice guy. In 2011, he left for the US and stayed there until he passed away in 2013. It was really sad that I didn't see him again. Now, that reclining chair is in our stock room, to preserve his memory somehow.
My husband has managed to break every recliner we have ever owned. He isn't a big guy, either. 5'10" and 150 lbs. So, I have no idea how he does it. But the one we have now will lose various pieces on occasion.
