No, I didn't forget Whoopi. She is the biggest dumb**s of all probably. I think she was ready to have Dr. Jill do brain surgery on her since she was such a "FINE DOCTOR". Jill ordered a brain scan and couldn't fine one, so the surgery was postponed.

I just can't list all the stupid people on TV and in Hollywood. It would probably exceed the storage capacity of the forum servers.

I think that most of us, at least the older ones, remember the day that President Kennedy was assassinated, right in front of millions of Americans, watching the parade on our old black and white television sets.

I was still a teenager, but old enough to remember that day, and watching it all happen on the TV, and everyone was crying and in shock over the loss of the president we all loved, and the fairy tale of a Camelot America that never happened after that tragedy.

We lived through the following days , all the way through the funeral, and little John-John saluting his father’s casket as it went by in the funeral procession.
The Kennedy presidency was gone, but they lived on in the hearts of many Americans.

So, I was really happy to see Bobby Kennedy suspend his campaign and join with President Trump, to help America together.
Kennedy is really focused on health issues, and his new slogan is “Make America Healthy Again”, and I think that he will do his best to help fix our problems with poor food (over-processed and chemically treated ), and stop big pharma from controlling everything.

When you listen to what he is saying, he really understands what has happened , and has good ideas how to fix it, he just needs the platform to do this, and Trump will give him that because they both care about the children, and the future of this country deeply.

I hadn’t heard this before, but it all goes back to the tobacco companies.
When the controls came out on cigarettes being addictive, and warnings on the side of the packages, the big tobacco companies started buying the food companies, and worked on making food more addictive; so one way or the other, Americans became addicted on their products.

It is not going to be easy to take control of our food companies again, but we need to have more of the same regulations as they have against over-processed foods as they have in some of the European countries.
I am looking forward to seeing Trump and Kennedy work together on this important task.

    :D

I was still a teenager too but I remember it well. The living room was standing room only as we huddled around the little B&W TV. Every place in town closed that night and everyone mourned. On Sunday we all gathered with a relative who had a bigger living room and a bigger TV and we were watching as Jack Ruby shot Oswald.

I don't think most of Kennedy's family knew who he or Bobby was. They were definitely not the Democrats of today. Remember when John ran those missiles out of Cuba. They thought he was young and weak but he wasn't.

Today's Democrat party is weak on crime and big on letting criminals go with no bail and Kamala has a record on that. Remember that RFK was after the Mafia? A lot of people think that's why he was killed.

I don't know how RFK, JR. and Trump will play out but it's one of the most interesting things that's happened in politics in many years.

Kennedy has said that he will be actively campaigning for MAGA Americans , and his part is now called “MAHA”, which stands for “Make America Healthy Again”, since health is RFK’s most passionate interest.
Once they are in office, he can start promoting healthier foods and affordable prices, and better school lunches for children.
I believe that he will also tackle big pharma and work to stop their control on the media with all of the paid drug ads we see all the time now.

I am incredibly happy at how well the two candidates have merged, focusing on the things they both agree on, which is NO WARS, peace, unity, health and prosperity in America.

Kennedy has also said that more of the old-time Democrats will soon be coming over to MAGA, and supporting Trump, to avoid Marxist Kamala Harris and her plans of control which are scaring even most Democrats and independents.
This was timed perfectly to completely make the whole DNC news disappear, as if it never happened, and now everything is about the new Unity party that is forming in America.

It appears, from what RFK posted, that Trump has more surprises up his sleeve to add to his new Unity Party. I have said that Trump is not a Conservative, and he has not been a Republican for long. He was a Democrat for most of his adult life, and is now trying to unite people of the same type as himself and RFK, who want more for the country and want to break up the hold that special interests have on the government. Who knows what else is on the agenda. It seems to be a fairly secret platform coming forward. I have said in the past that perhaps a new party is forming, as the Republicans did in the 1850s and the Democrats did around 1830 when the Jackson pro-slavery party replaced the Jefferson let slavery die party. It might eventually be the Unity Party, or the Patriot Party. At the moment, it goes by MAGA, but that title won't last. It will shape into something else as it goes forward.

I'd be okay with a political party with more respect for the Constitution than the Party, which works for the better interests of the country rather than a global agenda intended to subvert the nation's interests. Trump is a pragmatist rather than either a Republican or a Democrat. While he makes a lot of mistakes, I think his intentions are good, or at least better than those of either of the political parties.

I wouldn't mind seeing Tulsi Gabbard as part of the Trump Administration, either, which may well be happening (Fox News) since she has endorsed Trump.

Yes! However, there are some good actual conservatives who are Republicans in Congress but not nearly enough of them. However, a whole lot more Rs there than Ds.

Also, it depends on what Trump has to give them for their support. I'm not for unity for the sake of saying we're unified.

A long time ago I used to be able to vote for the most conservative candidate, the best candidate especially in a primary. Since Reagan I sometimes can vote for a good conservative in a primary but often even that is lesser of evils. I don't like it but I still think less evil is better than more evil, therefore I can't vote for Democrats.

I'm not so sure about Tulsi.

Perhaps I'm naive, but it seems that one thing that Trump, Kennedy, Gabbard, and Musk have in common is the awareness that both major political parties have been following the same globalist agenda and that, in pursuit of this, they have been subverting or outright ignoring the Constitution, the rule of law, and any sense of honesty, ethics, and fair play. If we can regain these attributes, we'll have a chance of surviving as something resembling a constitutional republic, and then we can deal with the rest.

I don't agree with everything Trump says or does, and I fear Kennedy's extreme environmental and climate views. I don't know as much about Tulsi Gabbard since I have never considered voting for her for anything, but considering that she has been a Democrat for a long time, I'm sure there's a lot there that I would disagree with, as well; and every one of them has personal goals and agendas, and I may or may not like them, but voting for Republicans because I agree with most of the Republican platform hasn't worked out because they flat-out refuse to advance this platform when given the power to do so.

Yes, there are Republicans who generally say what I consider to be the right thing, but I don't know whether they mean any of it. In a legitimate constitutional republic, we'd see whether they can do what they say they will do. There are very few, if any, elected Democrats who are interested in retaining our constitutional republic. While liberal on the issues, I always felt that Dennis Kucinich respected the Constitution, but he's been out of office for more than a decade. However, I see he's running for a Congressional seat in Ohio as an independent and was RFK's campaign manager.

If we can respect the Constitution and the rule of law, we'll be back to something resembling a constitutional republic, and the rest of it can be ironed out from there. There's nothing wrong with give-and-take as long as both sides are giving and taking, but as it has been, Democrats take, and Republicans give, and it never goes the other way.

What it seems like to me is that both of the traditional parties have left behind the “everyday people” of the United States, and have done so for quite a while now.
I remember when both Democrats and Republicans were conservative people, and at least on a local level, there were good people to vote for from both parties.

I remember my mom had an “I like Ike” button, so I am sure my folks voted for Eisenhower in 1952. I don’t know if they voted for Kennedy in 1960, but i remember how shocked and distressed we were when we watched President Kennedy being assassinated. Everywhere, we all mourned the tragedy, people from both political parties.

By the time Trump ran the first time, the Democrats were definitely not the party of the plain working people, and Hillary pretty much called everyone deplorable.
None of the republican candidates (all 16 of them) were well-liked either. We all thought that Trump was some kind of a joke and would drop out, until we started actually listening to him and discovered he cared about America.

The MAGA phenomenon is a populist movement like this country has not seen in years…….. maybe ever……because we have for so long just wanted a leader who actually CARED about the American people and our country.
In a different way, the Robert Kennedy supporters are the same thing, just from a different standpoint and political beliefs. Just as many republicans have realized that our party is not working for us, they have realized that the democrat party does not care for the people either.

So, for the first time, we have a kind of unity of “orphans”(if you will) of people who have been abandoned by both sides of the political party that they were aligned with.
Together, this is going to be a huge unity party, and I think that we can win the election if we can stop the cheating.

Once we have people who actually want to make America better, and we can throw out the swamp and put in better representatives , I think that we will be on the way to being a prosperous and happy nation again.

Both parties have aggregated power and wealth in Washington DC at the expense of local rule and governance. Suddenly the politics of the citizens in the other 49 states directly affects all of us in ways it was never meant to be, and we are at each other's throats like never before. I have no idea how to dismantle illegal federal agencies. They shall not go gentle into that good night.

Such good and thoughtful posts tonight.

Ken, I think you are anything but naive. There are major problems with both parties and I think the mess we are in is the fault of the people. Our government was set up to be governed by the people but the people now stand with their hands out begging the government to take care of them and they really don't care if the people they elect are honest or not as long as they keep handing out money. Much of today's populace is more suited for socialism than they are for self-government and if the country becomes full out socialist they won't know the difference.

We have not paid attention. We have let the teacher's unions take over our children and they are taught socialism in tax payer supported schools, not history, not civics, not the Constitution, not the rule of law, and not any sense of honesty, ethics, and fair play.

Voters are not willing to inform themselves. They cannot sit down in front of the TV and do that. Information must be searched for and it takes effort. I don't agree with everything any politician does but I realize that party plays a role. The party leaders in Congress work hard to keep their members in line with the party's agenda and the leaders of the majority party control what bills can come up for a vote. The minority has no say.

Trump is not a conservative but he has more common sense and I believe he loves the country. When it was a choice between Trump or Biden I knew who Biden was from paying attention for the last 40 years. Most didn't pay attention and he's nearly done us in.

I think Kennedy can be useful in a limited role, not in charge of anything, and maybe the same for Tulsi but I don't pine for a unity party. Politics is compromise and I have no desire to compromise on the Constitution and socialist/communism. It can't be done.

I wouldn't vote for Kucinich under any circumstances but totally agree with every word of your last paragraph.

Yvonne, I doubt if my parents voted for Ike because they were dyed in the wool Democrats. But they were divorced just as I entered my teens and my mother remarried after a couple of years. Her new husband was a Republican and oh my, the discussions that went on. I learned so much just by living in their house.

I agree that the Clintons changed things but Hillary is more radical than Bill. Of course I didn't vote for either one of them.

Yes, I was sure Trump would drop out and my choice was Ted Cruz but here we are. I don't put a lot of stock in politicians caring about people. I do think that a lot of people are looking to be cared for but Trump does seem to like all kinds of people and has some compassion for them. And it is true that I like Robert Kennedy as a person and that is why I have a bit more patience with him than I do Tulsi. You're going to have to pull me along on the unity party though. :)

John I usually agree with you and this time is no different. We have so far to go to get back to what we were meant to be in this country. I don't expect to live to see it but I'm hoping that the latest generation is going to realize what we've lost and want it back.

The Boomers have a lot to answer for.
