Kamala Harris is kicking Tump's ass. Rather than making points that people care about, Trump's going on and on about how many people come to his rallies. She's lying through her teeth and the moderators are clearly on Kamala's team, but Trump should have expected that. Instead, he let her get to him and he's spending his time defending his pride rather than the issues he should be running on.
I watched enough of the debate to see that David Muir (the "moderator") is actively participating in the debate against Trump. What a farce.
Sadly, I think Trump is flustered tonite. Not sure why he is letting them push his buttons. But I could not watch without commenting so I left. Poor hubby.
She's not doing great, and anyone who knows anything at all about facts knows she's lying, but her base doesn't care about the facts and much of her target audience doesn't know the facts, because they're not getting them from the Democrat media. She's not winning because she's brilliant - she's winning because Trump is letting his pride get in the way of his issues.
So far, he's doing better in the second half, if he can keep it up, but Kamala is also doing pretty well. Trump looks angry, while Kamala looks amused, and that doesn't bode well. Her confidence is way up, and that might carry the night.
The ABC moderators fact-check Trump in real-time even when they are wrong, but they never quarrel with anything Kamala says. Again though, that should have been anticipated since the Democrat Party is in charge of the debate.
I just looked at Fox YouTube channel that is live streaming the debate: As of 2 minutes ago there were 24 watching.
He did better in the second half, but I'd give the win to Kamala. Let's see what they do with their wrap-up speech. That's all that's left.
All he had to do was to keep his cool and simply say to all her promises to fix the nation... "WHY aren't you doing it NOW?" People keep ignoring the fact that she has participated in the B.S. that has gone on for the past three years. And as usual, Trump's playground bully ego gets in the way of effective debate.
I agree. To an extent, however, the incumbent's main job in a debate is to reassure people, either that things are good or that they are going to get better, while the challenger does need to attack the incumbent. I don't fault him for the attacks because he pretty much has to do that since Kamala is the de facto incumbent, but he didn't need to waste valuable time defending his pride while there were lies to be refuted, and looking angry doesn't play well on either side. Rather then defending himself on the questions about his court cases, he should have dismissed it for what it was and turned the conversation to the weaponization of the justice department. He needed to attack her on the issues, but without the name-calling and, more importantly, he needed to stick to the issues that matter.
This is what worries me on some level about Trump. Does he behave this way behind closed doors with other world leaders? These things matter. Honestly, I will be SO GLAD to see some new faces in politics going forward. It's time for a change.
Trump was debating two moderators and Kamala. But I must say she looked good. They must have put visine or something in her eyes to make them clear as they were.
