I am damned tired of hearing the same old chants in protests and other political functions. How long have college (and other) protests included the chant, "Hey, hey; ho, ho. blah-blah-blah has got to go!" Come on now, that was stupid fifty years ago, and it hasn't gotten any better. Equally annoying is the "USA" chant that we hear at every Republican event, particularly when someone is trying to interrupt the event, but it's also used as a form of a cheer or to drown out anyone that the assembled Republicans don't want to hear. Come on now, we know what country we're in. Do we really need to remind people over and over?
Good morning to all- Mr. Anderson- thank you for this remarkably intelligent post. I agree totally. Most of the noise heard at any political rally or gathering is just that- noise. It serves no purpose except to pump up already inflamed supporters. And why do they sound exactly like football game cheers? Because everyone knows them- from their football in high school days- so they don't require any thought. I reckon we could do better at this just like we can do better at a number of things in the political realm. Again, thank you for post- you all be safe and keep well- Ed
I don’t go to rallies or protests anymore but I like the USA chant. Why? Because I love the USA and so do the Trump supporters who attend rallies. Yes, I think the left does need to be reminded what country has provided them with their freedom. The leftists who come to rallies to disrupt deserve to be drowned out. USA! USA!! USA!!!
I asked chatgpt.com and these were suggestions I received - Creating a political chant that resonates with current times involves addressing contemporary issues and reflecting widespread sentiments. Here’s a suggestion that captures themes of justice, equity, and collective action: “Voices rise, no compromise, Justice now, we will not hide!” This chant emphasizes the demand for immediate action and unity in the face of ongoing challenges. It can be adapted or expanded based on specific causes or movements. Or maybe this - Certainly! Here’s a chant that expresses a strong desire for change and action: “Change is coming, loud and clear, Stand up now, we won’t wait here!” This chant conveys urgency and collective determination, urging people to take action and embrace change. It’s flexible enough to be adapted to various causes or movements. Not perfect but not from the 50's either.
For Donald Trump: "Four more years, make it clear, Trump’s the choice we want this year! Strong and bold, he’ll lead the way, Vote for Trump, come what may!" For Kamala Harris: "Kamala’s vision, strong and true, A brighter future starts with you! Equality, justice, every day, Harris leads, come what may!"
