"Morning", I'm working, fed dogs, let birds out, washed the porch and screens, about to clean overhead fans, and then, put the two small roasts, with onions, carrots, and potatoes, in the crock pot for dinner. "Busy, busy, busy". Hope you"re, having a "wonderful", day.
Morning, another day here, started as usual, coffee then fed everyone, watered everything and now I need to transplant the blueberries into three-gallon containers, "today". those they are in, are too small for them, and probably getting root-bound. Growing blueberries requires the right kind of soil mix. Blueberry plants grow best in acidic soil. Aim for a pH of about 4.5-5.5. This will be too acidic for other plants to grow, so plan accordingly. I will put a "photo", up, after the trans-plants. "First", I have to make the soil mix for them. Strawberries are doing great, in the new "strawberry patch". Hope everyone's having a great day.
I transplanted blueberries into three-gallon containers and put them in the strawberry patch. I took one photo of tomatoes, to show how much growing they've done.
I am off to a good start today, so far, I fed everyone, watered plants and trees, and set Molly up with her fan, and new water, she never ceases to amaze me. Leo's out-loving life, hard to believe he's the same dog that was abused a year and three months, of his life, even a full-blood transfusion. I'm fixing to adjust the brakes in the van for a full pedal, check fluids, grease u joints, and front end. Then gas freon in the truck for AC, getting hotter down here now, so I will need it soon. Hoping your day is going well.
Got the brakes done and fixed the shift indicator on the van yesterday. Charging batteries a lot today, and more tomorrow. Still have to get to AC on the truck, maybe tomorrow. Getting ready for new well filtration setup. Be here May 04, 2024. Have my work cut out for me, and never slows down. Hope your day was good.
Some of Helene and Milton; back to back hurricane damage. I was thinking I was getting caught up and Mother Nature said no you not. This one was on my building, so I used my truck to pull it off.
It popped the trees like tooth picks. Powerful winds, Helene hit at 140 mph right over us, sound like a "freight train", at 11 pm at night. "Scary"; Marie and I were outside, on porch and you could hear trees popping, but not see them in dark. It popped the trees and threw them across the property to different areas. This one on trail I cut with chain saw on side of trail, then cut it on other side of trail 3\4 of the way threw, and thought it will break when I snatch it with the truck and chains. No way it wouldn't break had to cut it the rest of the way through. That's how I knew, just how powerful that storm was. Popped trees, in half, and threw them. Lots of healthy limbs, that are big as trees everywhere you look.
These cedar trees keep losing limbs each hurricane. Moving them with my truck. Used some for flower garden; Marie's idea.
This old tree is about 150 years old; Marie stood by it showing the size of it. We slowly getting it done, but as you know; it never slows, after retirement. These are only a few photos showing the damage here, from hurricanes, I've still not got me a tractor; found another one though, waiting for them to call back hopefully.
The place looks so much different now, we can see the sky in several new places we couldn't see it before. The place now has a lot more sunlight. I don't have to lean on a tree for balance to see the full moon now.. Too bad hurricanes love vines, didn't touch a one, only useful plants were torn up.
I have pretty much. Due to stress, but when it's normal, I take off a little. Any dental or Dr appt I have to take it and it always goes to the moon; anyway at that time. White coat syndrome.
OK, I'm going to lecture you a little. BP meds are to be taken regularly; they are not like headache pills. The normal readings you get are likely due to taking the medicine. I have high BP too, and I hate taking pills... but I hate having a stroke more. Take care of yourself so you and Marie can enjoy the new tractor!!
Maybe a melatonin before you go to the doctor might help, because it will relax you and make you a little drowsy. Bobby and I both take a melatonin about a half hour before bed, and then I paint on the ipad or read something relaxing for that half hour, and usually fall asleep just fine. I have never tried it before going somewhere stressful, but I think it might be worth trying. They are healthy and anti-aging, with no side effects.
