Good morning, y'all. Got a good start on the day, but feverish, so probably going to take it easy. I made b'fast and coffee before the fever hit, so they might go to waste, which is a shame, since it was the first day for both. We're expecting severe weather again tonight/tomorrow, so finger's crossed we all come out o.k. Have a great day, y'all!

Mornin'. A partly cloudy 59 degrees at 9am here on Iowa's East side beach. Thunderboomies in the forecast for tomorrow. Somehow I gathered a sudden burst of energy. Slept a bit more last night, though it was in two shifts.
I've been window shopping on the gunbroker site and through the military surplus catalogs. Gotta quit doing that. It just makes me want to spend money for stuff I don't need. Stuff like cartridge pouches and belts, military clothing, edged weapons, tools, parts, even vehicles.
My middle son recently bought a surplus blazer type vehicle. It still has camo paint, two batteries, large generator, diesel engine, 4 wheel drive and fittings for a military radio. He's happy with it.
Back in better days I once owned a J. P. Sauer Sohn .32ACP pistol exactly like the one pictured. It's a well made little pocket gun, dependable and reasonably accurate. I loved that little gun.
They can still be had on the Gunbroker site, for $400+. I paid $20 for mine back in the 1960's. I so want another one.
So, save your money. If Hillary's elected, You'll need it.

I haven't owned a gun since shortly after moving to Oklahoma. I had a sawed off shotgun, legal in Texas but illegal in Oklahoma. I gave it to my brother in law.I would like to have a handgun but hate to turn lose of the money with so many health problems in the family. I've never owned anything but a pistol. The one I liked best was a small .32 cal. I was younger then and owned several pistols.

We also have the possibility of storms, but only a light chance at this time. Those predictions can change fast though, so I will keep an eye on the weather forecast this afternoon, which is when they said we could have thunderstorms.
This morning, I am headed back outside to work on weeding the strawberry patch. I got part of it done yesterday; but it is a slow process for me. Since my knees are uncooperative, I can't get down and crawl around anymore; so I have to stand up and double over to weed or do other yardwork on the ground. This makes it even harder for me to breathe; so I work a while, and then recuperate a while when I have to be upside-down to plant or weed the garden.
I am glad to see @Bonnie Thomas back again, since we were all concerned about her being in the part of Texas hit hardest by the storms last week or so.

Can you believe we had Snow today?....started off with a sunny morning and blue skies, then from nowhere came huge snow flakes, almost like Hailstones but bigger, then an hour later we had sun and blue skies again, and the snow had melted...crazy weather!

Mornin', from soggy, overcast, chilly 46 degree river city. Storms are on the way, according to the radar map. Let 'er blow.
I'm feeling more alive this morning. That always scares me. My life is a series of peaks and valleys. When things start getting too good, I know a nose dive is coming soon. Oh well, let 'er rip.
Two pretty ladies will be bringing my groceries later. Then, some guy will be bringing me my mail, probably consisting of bills. Already got a big bill from the hospital. More to follow, I'm sure.
So, Trump pulled off a big win last night. Good. Bye-bye Cruz. This morning I heard Trump say that if Hillary was a man, she would only get about 5 % of the candidates. She has nothing going for her except the woman card, which she is milking for all it's worth.
I watch these interviews with college age young people, and am amazed at their total lack of knowledge of what is going on around them. Back in the 1950's, as I was going through grade and high school, we were taught about world affairs. We all knew who the president was and who the wannabe's were, and what they were about.
I believe I mentioned about the time I came home from school with a large "I Like Ike" campaign button on my shirt, much to the disgust of my parents. I really believed in Ike. After all, he was a great general in WW2. He had to be a good president. Wonder how many college kids today know who Eisenhower was?
    Oh well, onward and upward.

    Good Morning, Y'all.

@Ike Willis I'm glad you're feeling somewhat better. I agree, it's concerning how little young people know of what's going on, let alone historical events. I don't agree with voting for the female, the black, the hispanic, etc. I want to hire the best person for the job, not check off a box so I can feel like a do gooder.

The storms rolled through earlier, while most were still asleep. I was up with insomnia when the tornado warnings came through, so this time I didn't sleep through them. The sun is shining right now, and the birds are chirping outside. I was actually able to drink my cup of coffee yesterday, although I might skip it today. I vacuumed up here, which made me feel much better.

I love big snowflakes like that @Holly Saunders, it sounds pretty. I miss snow, but definitely don't miss shoveling or commuting in it.

Hope everyone's having a great day and doesn't experience anything too severe weather-wise.

th (57).jpg Good Morning All. It's raining over here but nothing more than a good ground soaking. I hope every is doing fine. I wanted to let y'all know that I will probably not be around the Forum much for a short while. I have a lot of things I need to take care of right now but I should be back around by next week. Hope all of you have a great week.

Mornin'. An overcast 50 degrees here on the great Mississippi river alongside Iowa. Rain possible. Got a doc visit this afternoon. Then I hope these d**n appointments are over for awhile.
So, Cruz picked Carley as a running mate. He's grabbing at every straw to save his campaign. Maybe Cruz should bring in BDO, (TV commercial).:D
They switched are apartment heaters over to air conditioning a week ago. Sure could use a bit of heat these last few days. Guess I'll have to dig out my space heater.
That's all I got for now. Behave yourselves. If ya can't behave, have your passport handy.

Good Morning, Y'all. It was sunny when I woke (back) up, but now it's clouded over. I'll have to check the weather reports, just to be sure, but I don't think we have anything severe on the way.

The birds are chirping, and I guess I should go feed them. I'm less enthusiastic about that since a new family of squirrels has taken it over. I think they're cute, but I don't want them getting too comfy, since I want them to move on, and I mainly set it up so I could view pretty birds.

Hope all is well @Babs Hunt, thanks for letting us know you won't be around. Knock out your chores, etc., and come back when you can sit a spell :).

I'm off to explore, have a great day, y'all!

Good day to all. Sorry I haven't been around. It's good to hear that @Bonnie Thomas is Ok, I was starting to worry about her. Her area was hit harder than mine. The threat of tornadoes have had us scrambling a couple of times.
My yard is a muddy mess still, and now the grass is getting long, but everything is too soggy to mow or weed eat. We finally got the trees cut and burned, and we got a covering over the whole in my roof.

Of course I got my home owners insurance bill just two days ago, and that is just under $3,000. It has a $1,500. deductible, so I'll not get my $800. back for the trees. At least my roof will be fixed by my a friend that owes me some money. Now if the weather will cooperate, it would help.

I find myself sleeping a lot right now, because of the low BP and heart rate, but I'll be seeing the cardiologist next Thrusday, and doing whatever test they decide on. Then maybe I can find some energy and quit sleeping so much.

Mornin'. We have 46 overcast degrees at 7am here on Iowa's beautiful East coast. Rain for certain tomorrow. That should P O my son. He lives for the weekends and being outdoors.
Tonight is race night. Good luck boys.
Got my doc visit out of the way for another month. Got a problem with high white cell blood count. Hope it ain't some new disease I can't afford.
A WW2 B-17 bomber is on display at a quad city airport this weekend. My dad worked on and flew in those during the war. The one on display was taking up WW2 vets for rides. Dad would have loved that.
So, guess I'll use today to clear up a few chores here, around the ol' bunkhouse. Use to have a wife that did that. She got mad and quit. Can't blame her much, I guess.
Well, I better get to stirrin' before laziness sets in.
Have a great weekend, y'all. Be careful out there. If you're in Iowa, wear a raincoat.
