We are sunny and nice again today, but the thunderstorms are supposed to arrive here tomorrow, and go through the weekend. It looks like cooler and rainy most of next week, unlesss they change it. We are headed for the fitness center this morning, and then I will be outside working in the yard this afternoon. Yesterday, I took the scissors and trimmed Chipper's hair short for the summer, so he is prancing around with a lot less hair today. He used to be fine with being brushed and groomed; but as he gets older, he seems to hate it more and more. He yowls and squalls even though I am just trimming his hair and nothing that hurts him at all. When Bobby gives him a bath, he doen't make a bit of noise, like he does when I bathe him. I guess he just thinks he has to "man-up" and take it when "daddy" gives him his bath.
Good morning, Y'all. I can see a few pin pricks of blue sky through all the clouds. It seems we'll be getting more rain. I was down the lower part of the the main road I live off of yesterday. I hadn't been down there in a while, since I haven't been out much. The water was coming up over the edge of the road, and the marshes surrounding that low lying spit of road and under the main bridge were full and much higher than normal. Even the water at the gully down the road was much higher than it's been in quite a while. We're under a flood warning through about 5pm today, then a flash flood watch through Sunday, with a pollen alert, to boot. Perhaps that's why today's a challenge. I'm going to enjoy the few rays of sunshine breaking through the clouds, and take the cats outside for a few, since it appears we'll be inside for the weekend. Hope no one gets anything too severe. Have a nice day!
Good Morning, Y'all. It's overcast, and a few storms moved through overnight, but I think they were just minor ones. I was awake, and didn't hear anything scary. The birds are chirping and looking for breakfast. Hope everyone's enjoying a nice Saturday morning!
Good morning everyone ..it's a chilly morning as we start heading into winter ...we were suppose to have rain overnight to settle the dust of such a dry hot summer ..but we got nothing just lots of wind to stir up more dust ..We live in a cereal growing area ,and there are lots of bare paddocks, so it doesn't take much wind to stir up the dust .. It's Sunday here I'm on duty out at our large museum today ( volunteer) the museum is dedicated to the very hard working miners ,and their family's who immigrated from Cornwall to work in the copper mines
'Mornin'. It's a brisk 46 degrees here in beautiful overcast, damp, dreary, rain coming, East beach city. It rained most of yesterday so I used the time to do laundry and write all my now many bill paying checks. The medical bills are starting to flood in. I don't need to tell most of you how that is. So, today I have nothing to do. Good. I'll use the time constructively by roaming the net and insulting liberals at every opportunity. Friday night races were cancelled, so grandson has another week to ready his car. I never got into racing, other than a few street drag races. However, back in 1958-'59, my pals and I would race against the clock on an old abandon dirt road west of town. This road was just off a country blacktop, ran a very twisty mile to an abandon farm house, where the road ended. Our "game" was to start at the blacktop road, run the course to the farm house, around the house and back to the blacktop, with just the driver and the time keeper aboard. Fastest time wins the cash pot. I had a '48 Plymouth coupe then, but never won. My friend, "crazy Bob" won often with his '48 Desoto coupe. Good times, those. Yesterday I watched the movie, "The Buddy Holly story". Now, I got Buddy's songs stuck in my head. He was my favorite, then and still. In those days I was dating a chubby little blonde. I liked her, a lot. She liked to laugh and was fun to be with. My parents interfered with that romance. Who knows what might have been. Like they say, That was then, this is now. Be careful out there. The liberals are rioting for the right to pee in any restroom.
Good Sunday Morning, Y'all. That sounds like an interesting museum, @Kate Ellery, does it attract a lot of tourists? I hope it doesn't get too cold or too dusty for you. @Ike Willis That sounds like a fun kind of racing, beating the clock. Here in this area, there's a drag racing track a few towns over, but idiots choose to race in the streets. I've been caught up in it while driving along, and it's scary. A pastor and his wife were killed a few weeks back when hit by a car that had been racing...he then fled the scene, but has since been caught. It's overcast and has rained a bit off and on, but nothing much to show for it, although I think some severe weather is still in the forecast. Hope everyone has a great day!
Good Morning Everybody! It is barely morning anymore here though! The sun is shining here at the moment here in Central Virginia, but we just got done with a rainstorm that knocked the internet off for about a half and hour. I think it is going to be an off and on rainy day. I think I am going to check the weather forecast here in a minute. I know last night they said we were going to have about 3/4 of an inch of rain..Here in the areas NW of Richmond, we are expected to have the most.
Good Morning All. Here in Louisiana we have been getting the rain since last night and even though we personally don't have to worry about our home flooding since it is up on blocks, I am hearing lots of stories from family and friends about high water all around....but not in their home thank God. Hope everyone has a peaceful day. We're getting ready to watch the Talledega Nascar Sprint Cup race and hopefully the rain won't head their way and stop the race. I made homemade burgers and chili for hot dogs today. So we will be enjoying the race and those burgers and dogs while we are relaxing on this peaceful and rainy Sunday.
Mornin'. We have 48 degrees at about 7am, with only a chance of rain today. Well, that was one wet weekend. It rained or drizzled all weekend. It didn't affect me much, but it sure cut down on outdoor activities here. Raised heck with my bad knee too. When I was doing my two weeks of rehab, I had two one hour plus sessions every day. One in the morning and one afternoon. My room was at the end of a long hall. Someone would come for me when they were ready, and walk with me to the gym. Tell ya what, all that walking and workouts just irritated the crap out of my bad knee. After the first week, my knee would buckle from time to time when I walked, and it would wake me every night, throbbing with pain. Still does most mornings. I'm not much for rehab, in every case. Anyway, I'm home now, and can do whatever I want. Right now, I think I want to get dressed, before anyone comes. Behave yourselves. If you can't behave, disguise yourself as a politician. They get away with everything.
Good Morning, Y'all, Happy Monday! It was a long night, not much sleep. Hopefully that will change soon. Storms moved through in the middle of the night. I put out a feeler in the Facebook neighborhood group, to find out how the roads are, but no response yet. I think I'll just avoid the problem area and take the high roads and bridges instead. I'd prefer to hunker down, but unfortunately, errands must be run. @Babs Hunt That looks a lot like here right now. You probably get a lot of the weather from here, and if so, you probably have a little more on the way, but this week is supposed to clear up and dry up, with plenty of sunshine! @Ike Willis Hope your knee pain and swelling ease up soon. Have a great day, everyone!
Good Morning Everyone! It is another rainy day here in Louisiana but I'm not minding that at all this morning after a nice relaxing weekend. Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend too. Be blessed in every way today!
Good Tuesday morning ...to everyone .. It's starting to turn cold ..we are heading into winter ..we just need some rain to stop the dust
Mornin'. We're having a much better day this Tuesday here in bright, sunny, warmer Iowa. It's 50 degrees under clear, blue skies. A welcome relief after several days of rainy and wet weather. Yesterday was a good day in one respect. There were ho bills in my mail. Was up before 5am this morning. Been watching FOX news until now, 8am. Today is voting day in Indiana. Get 'em, Trump. Last night TV pretty well sucked. I finally settled down to watch a "return to lonesome dove" thing. It was pretty blah. I love westerns, but like 'em straight forward and to the point. Like "Culpepper Cattle Company", and "Quigley Down Under". No plans for today. We'll see what comes up. Nothing, I hope. I hate surprises. So, behave yourselves. Remember, there's only two kinds of people who get to do what they want. Members of mafia families and politicians.
Good Morning, Y'all. The sky is gorgeous this morning. I wish I'd had a camera with me when I was taking out the trash and putting out the Mother's Day cards in the mailbox. I really wish the wires here were underground. I could get some nice pictures off the balcony, but they're always in the way. The air feels nice, too. It's going to be sunny from now on, at least until the end of the week. I'm having oral surgery tomorrow, and I'm a bit nervous, but hopefully after that I'll be feeling a lot better, at least once I recover. Have a great day, everyone!
