My favorite humorist is Lewis Grizzard, I like his southern comedy, bought all 26 of his books when he passed. Sometimes he is a little corny but still can be very funny,
I like all those comedians! I like Jeanne Robertson. I think I have watched or listened to all her comedy shows. Brian Regan too. They all are funny without being vulgar.
I've been a long time fan of Mr Grizzard's and have read many of his books. I can't say that I've read all 26 of them but then again, I've read quite a few. You say that you bought all 26 of them after his passing. You're a true fan! I can't help thinking though that Mr Grizzard would have appreciated you buying all 26 of them, or even fewer, while he was living amongst us.
Jack, I already had several of them although I'd loan them out and not get them back. His books are really funny to my friend and I, we would talk on the phone about them and laugh so hard we'd have to hang up or just say" stop it! He even wrote one on his deathbed," Elvis is Dead and I don't Feel That Good Myself". A bad tooth he waited to see about too long infected his heart, ended up killing him at 42. He was in Russia doing a show and wouldn't go to dentist there.
None of the books on any of them are vulgar or mention's religion, that came later in live shows. He wrote this song for his granny,
