    Is anyone familiar with soap nuts? Grit Magazine has a story about them. They look kind of strange and I had never heard of such a thing before. Here's the page on them from Mountain Rose Herbs, the company referenced in the Grit article, although they are out of stock.

    It's too bad they don't grow in cold climates.

    Yes, I use eco nuts now on a regular basis. I have found that these actually save money because laundry soap doesn't need to be bought periodically. Also, these are more safer to use because they are natural and don't contain the chemicals in laundry soap. A box of a hundred econuts can cost around fifteen dollars and can last about three to four months on average for this can be a savings along with using something that is natural.
