Good Morning Everyone. Here in Texas it will probably be raining most of the day today in a place that already has seen more than it's share of water. Here at my daughter's we haven't had any serious flooding but not to far from us the Brazos River is overflowing its banks and flooding many homes, etc. My prayers are definitely with all those being affected by to much rain here in Texas. I am having such a wonderful time with my toddler granddaughter...she loves to talk now and mimics everything you say to her. By far my favorite words of hers right now are when I say: "I love you Amelie!" and she tells me right back: "I love you Gran Gran!" Even though all my other Grandchildren call me Granny, Amelie has decided I am Gran Gran to her...and my heart does overflow with joy when she calls me by the special name she chose for me. I love all my Grandkids but our "Luvey" is extra special because she is a true miracle from our heavenly Father and the advances medical science has made in the reproductive field and I am so thankful for this miracle. I pray that everyone is feeling well today and that whatever you're going to do today....may you be blessed with love, peace, and joy!
Mornin'. It's gonna be yet another bright, sunny day here in Iowa land. 60 degrees, heading for the low 80's. Back in my bad old days I had a saying. It goes like this. 'The only thing I like about hot, sunny days is cool, dark bars'. If you substitute the appropriate words, that saying worked for winter weather too. These days however, I'm denied all the pleasurable food and drink, and most activities I used to love. My daughter is undergoing foot surgery tomorrow. I wish her a speedy recovery. Last night TV programing left a lot to be desired, so I watched a pay-per-view movie called 'Race' about the life of Jesse Owens. I recommend it to anyone interested in what was going on in the pre war years. Gotta go now. My first scheduled nap time is fast approaching. Behave or be careful, whichever is most fun.
Good Morning, Y'all. The sun just peeked through, but that won't last long. It's been storming right overhead most of the night, and the deep rumbling thunder is starting again. I need to run my rent check out to the mailbox when I feed the strays in a few minutes. I was sleeping deeply, having a weird one, when a pack of dogs (or someone walking their loud pooches) interrupted me. I ran errands yesterday, got everything I need until next week, so we're hunkering down for the duration. Hopefully I won't loose power, but the tablet's charged and I have plenty of Kindle books on it. Have a nice day, y'all stay safe!!
So cute @Joe Riley Fridays always make me smile, and who wouldn't enjoy seeing that smiling face? Hope you have a nice day. It's another stormy day. I'm going to run the trash out in a bit when I feed the strays, before the storms get worse. There's a lull in the rain right now, and I'm enjoying the pattern of the raindrops on the screen and window glass. Ryan is sitting in the window yowling, as if I'm going to actually take him out on the uncovered balcony. My flowers are loving all this rain, they're in a blooming frenzy. Happy Friday, folks, hope it's a good one where y'all are.
Does anyone else like the Snyder's pretzel commercial lady? She has a somewhat evil look. I like that. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...E711A1BD379CA84C33F4E711A1BD379CA84&FORM=VIRE
Good morning all. It is flooding in my area. My neighbor across the street has water inside his house, and several other in my neiborhood are having trouble as well. Thank goodness my home seems to be on a high point. Over the almost 30 years I've been here, this is the worst I seen it. And, we have more rain coming for the next two or three days. So I'm crossing my fingers that the water doesn't get any higher. I still have two hole in my roofs waiting for repairs, so we don't need anymore high winds either. Ok, that my rant for present.
Good Rainy Stormy Saturday Morning, Y'all! I wondered how you were faring, @Ina I. Wonder. My neighbor's ditch is full, that's when I get a bit concerned. The snails are climbing the houses here. Do you have tarps on the roofs where the holes are? I have to run out on Monday, and I'm hoping things are drier by then. I hydroplaned on the way home the other day, ugh. I've got what I need for the weekend, but have to take Shannon in for bloodwork on Monday so fingers crossed that the roads are dry. Have a great day, everyone!
@Diane Lane, yes there is a tarp over the roof, and the tree that came down last week has still to be cut up and removed. But there is too much water on the ground to get to it, so it will need a dry spell so the water can drain. Greens bayou is almost up to the bridge, and I'm within it's flood plain. I know what you mean about the streets. I go out no more than I have to for milk or bread, and no more than five miles in any directions right now. Most of my neighbors have flood damage. I haven't left home since Tuesday because it has been raining since.
Stay safe, both of you, @Ina I. Wonder and @Diane Lane ! I am glad that so far the flooding is missing both of you, and staying off of the streets is a wise decision, too. We can usually plan what we have to do around the weather, too; but thankfully, we don't have the same kind of flooding problems that Texas is having. We do have areas here that flood everytime we get bad storms; but we don't live in one of those areas. My daughter, Robin, is close to a creek that always floods, and she likes to walk down and look at the flooding; but it doesn't get high enough to reach where she lives either. It has been pretty much a dreary day here today, wet and muggy. They said we would have thunderstorms, which usually helps to clear the air; but we have not had anything except some drizzly rain. I haven't had to water the garden, and rainwater is always better for that anyway. Supposed to be the same tomorrow, and then hot again by Monday.
'Mornin', from the east side of Iowa. Hope you all have a pleasant Sunday. We had a bit of rain last evening. Nothing serious though. It's getting so hard to find something good to watch on TV, I had to resort to checking out the older movies on pay-per-view. These are usually about $3. So, I opted for "Grand Torino" last night. You can't go wrong with Clint Eastwood. I don't know what tonight will bring. TV is full of stuff about Ali's death. And, the vultures like Hillary and Sanders are using it to attack Trump. The more I see of those two, and their supporters attacking Trump and his fans with violence, the more convinced I am that Trump is the best choice. Well, I'm off to Facebook to see what the rest of my clan is up to. Hope none of them need bail money, 'cause I'm all tapped out.
