Oh Diane Lane, I wanted to mention, I am not sure if you saw it but Wayward Pines is coming on as a series coming on Wednesday on Fox. I was not familiar with the series until you mentioned it on here, but I am gonna watch the TV show. It's funny because Terrence Howard is in it..and the show comes on the same time Empire has been. I like Empire alot, but that HBO show Vinyl is ugly in my opinion...the F word every other word.
@K E Gordon Yes, this is actually Season 2 of Wayward Pines. You should see if you can catch up on Season 1 first, but if not, it'll probably be fine. I'd actually like to re-watch season 1 before watching Season 2. I have such a bad memory I forget what's happened, even though it hasn't been that long since the last season ended. From the commercials, it sort of looks as if Season 2 might start off similarly to Season 1, but with a new person coming in as a new person entering the town. That probably sounds confusing, but if you watch Season 1 first, it might make sense. I haven't read the books, so perhaps that's how the books went, but I found it a little disconcerting when I first saw the Season 2 ad, but once I start watching, it will probably all come together.
Oh I didn't know it had been on before. Rats. I will have to try to find season one online,, but my guess they will do some kind of recap of season one before they present the first episode of season 2. That might have to suffice. I will have to see what I can find out..maybe a synposis will be the way to go, Anyway, we are probably getting off th book track..I take it you enjoyed the books.
I haven't read the books yet. I'm waiting until I have enough time to read all three in a row. I didn't realize Wayward Pines would be starting again so soon, and now I'm wondering if I should wait to read them, so I don't get confused between the show and books, in case they're way different from one another. I'm in the middle of reading Wanton Regard right now, it's by Geoffrey Neill, here's a link to it, in case anyone is interested. It's interesting, and is about a stalker and how he goes about inserting himself into the life of the woman he's fixated on. 'The Revolt' by Israel's former Prime Minister, Menachem Begin. Powerfully life-changing in the deeper understanding of life and the value of learning from it. The wit and humour Begin writes is a page-turner of historical and political importance, in which voice I identify with unapologetically. One of my idol-authors with Begin is John Grisham. This morning, I started the wake-up call by reading Grisham's suspense novel, 'The Testament'. Again, one of Grisham's addictive work I have collected overtime.
I'm currently reading Patricia Highsmith's "Stranger on a Train" because I love te way she builds suspense and I want to be able to write suspense in my novel. She gets it so right - proof is that a lot of her books have been optioned to be adapted for film. I read all her Ripley novels a few years ago and last week I read "The Tremor of Forgery". "Strangers on a Train" was her first novel and was famously adapted by Alfred Hitchcock. I'm aiming high with my novel ..... if I get just a small part of the way there I'll be happy.
I am not currently reading any book. However, my favorite authors are Debbie Macomber and Janet Evanovich. I love reading about families with good values such as those in Debbie's books. I also enjoy reading "fun" books that make you laugh out loud as in Janet Evanovich's books. Perhaps I would do well to read some of the more involved novels or mystery books...........I just know who my favorite authors are and I instantly go to theirs. When I worked outside the home I read several books each week (during lunch and breaks). Now that I am home full-time I don't seem to be able to squeeze in much reading! I think I need to work harder on that!
HA, I am reading How to Get Married in a Year...I forgot who the author is...Do you think it will work?? Anyway, I am also reading the 8th Murder by James Patterson, along with a couple of other books I pick up and put down. Patterson, I think is seriously vying to be the most prolific author of all times. I saw his study on CBS Sunday Morning. He has hundreds of book ideas is file drawers. He is going to start selling bookshots quick reads of 150 pages or less.
I'm now reading a book written by an online contact about a journey she made. I offered to read and review it on my website - but it's poorly written. Whoops!
When I published a local newspaper, I reviewed a book written by someone from Millinocket, since we don't have very many authors from Millinocket. I wasn't entirely critical of the book but, since it was his first book, it was far from perfect. He was furious because I didn't give it a glowing review, ignoring the fact that I still sold quite a few of his books from my review. With my Amazon.com associate links, I have found that personal reviews sell more books even when they aren't complimentary. He probably still hates me but fortunately his uncle, who lives next door to me, isn't holding it against me. He did tell me that his nephew as angry with me, though.
You never know why people get mad at you and hold a grudge. I have a whole group of folks who I used to consider friends, who are currently treating me like I have leprosy. If anything, I should be mad at them...so...huh??? I don't want to talk about my behavior..because like you, I don't feel that I did anything wrong in the slightest. I think, all you can do in a situation like that is...say something like "sorry you feel that way."
I just borrowed a book by Randal Lawrence from the Kindle Lending Library. It is a 4-book set that sells for $2.99, and is about EFT and meridian tapping. Since I have had such a good experience with things that I have tapped about so far (and am even losing weight better with tapping for that); I have been reading more books and articles related to meridian tapping. When I first started reading about tapping, I stopped a severe panic attack in just a couple of minutes. And, not only that; but all my life, I have been so scared of heights that I can't even stand on a chair or a 2-step stepladder, let alone climb anything taller than that. I have always had terrible balance, and am terrified of falling. However , after a session of EFT, I am now able to get in and out of the swimming pool using the flimsy little ladder that came with it. Granted, I can't do it like Bobby does; but I AM actually getting on the ladder and getting into the pool, and that amazes me. Now, I am also using it for food cravings, and anything else that I want to change, and so far , it is working. I still have a lot to learn about EFT; but it is an interesting subject, and the possibilities seem almost endless.
I am reading a couple of different books, one is the Hangman's Daughter by Oliver Poritsch. Another is the 8th Murder by James Patterson. I am also reading a couple of kindle books Skeleton Key Author unknown, and a title I don;t remember about a young girl who went missing in Florida in 1974. Sorry, my tastes kind of go to the macabre I guess!
