Good Morning, Y'all. Happy Tuesday. It's decent outside now, but the AC is on again, and it's going to be a hot one. Trash it out, all of the cats are fed, and I've got a nice hot cup of tea here. It looks like rain, hopefully that will keep the temperatures down somewhat today. I've got a few projects lined up for today. Not feeling the greatest, but going to take a nice hot bath in a bit, then get started on my day. Hope everyone has a nice one.
Mornin' everyone! My day started very early... to the sound of thunder and the flashes of lightning. At least when our storms are in the early morning, there's not *usually* a tornado watch with them, but it could happen. Afternoon storms, though, almost always come with a watch. I'm eating fresh strawberries as I type (well, between typing, that is!) They're from a roadside stand and taste like the berries I used to pick with my grandmama... nice and sweet. I've realized for years now that grocery store strawberries are *nothing* like what I call "real strawberries" but these were. At the same place I picked up some Amish-made shortcake and I'll tell ya, it's made for some serious moan-worthy desserts! Everyone smiling today? Hope so!
Good morning everyone, it seems it's either too hot or too cold. Spring and fall seem to come and go in a flash. My eyes are getting better since I quit reading so much, but I do miss playing online with everyone. I had been turning on my computer in the wee hours, and not shutting it down until late into the night. I eyes had gotten so blurry that I was falling a lot. I now know why I'm so addled half the time. It seems to have something to do with my upper aorta valve, and too much activity. I go on the 23rd for my third try at that chemical stress test. I'm going to drink as much water as I can hold. Maybe that will raise my BP enough they can get chemicals into me. Right now it's no blood coming out and no veins will let anything in.
@Ina I. Wonder , thankfully it's not humid here so if my undies are wet it's because I peed my pants and that would not be good. @Mari North , I'm not much of a fruit eater but you have me craving some, we usually have a lot of strawberry stands here too. My favorite fruit though is watermelon and I'd get one if I was sure it was going to be a good one. @Frank Sanoica , also had me craving grapes in a post he did on I think wine. I must be low on vitamin C.
Mornin'. Been up since 1:30am. Storm woke me and I couldn't get back to sleep. We're getting lots of thunder, lightning and rain. I love a good storm. Would prefer they take place later in the day though. I got nothing much on tap for today. A grocery delivery is all. That's fine with me. Remember when we were wee snots, and our parents would punish us by sending us to bed early or making us stay in our rooms or in the house all day? Well, these days, that's my routine. I don't want to leave the building or even my apartment, most days. Had breakfast a couple hours ago. Eggs, sausage and coffee. When I cook anything, I tend to garlic the h*** out of it. So, my place, and me, smells like sausage, coffee and garlic. Well, it's almost 5AM here in the corn and hog state. Time for me to go watch FOX news awhile. Behave yourselves. Follow the law, say your prayers if you're believers, don't make waves and keep a low profile. If you do those things, the current administration will hate you anyway, for not being like them, corrupt.
I love a good storm too @Ike Willis - but preferably in the day time .... hope you catch up on some sleep and that the news was not all bad .... Happy Wednesday everyone.
Happy Wednesday to one and all. I have my standard stuff to do today, and am supposed to do an online focus group tonight. However, they want you to do it at home, and my internet situation is such that really isn't a good idea. Hopefully it will all work out! Anyway, the day seems pleasant enough..a bit humid, but to be expected this time of the year. I hope everybody has a good one!!!!
Good morning everyone! @Ike Willis , I can smell your breakfast all the way here in California! Smells good! 104 today, had to turn the A/C on already....my bill will be a high one next month. I'm still playing catch up and don't think I ever will...I'm too hot to worry about it. Have a wonderful day, maybe I'll get my flowers today. Everything looks cleaner and nicer when you have fresh flowers in a vase.
Good Morning, Y'all. I've also been up for hours, courtesy of my neighbors. I can't wait to win the lottery and get the heck out of this place. Their dog attacked the strays I feed last night, then early morning lumber delivery with heavy duty truck just outside my bedroom. There aren't fences high enough for this crew, and they've never heard of leashes, the dogs are running around the neighborhood all day several times a week, to cries of "I have no idea how they got out"...well I do, it involves you opening the door and being careless. Ugh. Moving along. Today is my cat's follow up at the vet. Hopefully all will be well. I don't feel well, and will just be glad to go and get home, but it's not until this afternoon. The sun's up and shining gently through my window. I can see the flowers through the sheers, and hear the birds chirping, even over the drone of the AC. Hope the focus group goes well @K E Gordon, and hope it pays well. Your breakfast sounds yummy @Ike Willis, much better than flavorless oatmeal! Have a great day, everyone.
@Diane Lane well noisy neighbors is one thing I don't have to worry about out here in the boondocks. That is one thing I can appreciate about this place, but the drawbacks outweigh the advantages, believe me! @Chrissy Page the heat sounds pretty intense. So far we haven't been affected here. The weather is just typical for this time of the year, but we probably won't be unscathed forever. @Ike Willis yum, yum. I had shredded wheat.
I sort of live in a boondocks neighborhood. We're off by ourselves down the end of a long back road, but the houses are mostly small cottages. It seems anything goes here, and no one has been taught about boundaries...or at least about half of the residents haven't been. I do like to know what's going on, but I have to wonder why so many of the neighbors care that 'po po in the hood.' One the plus side, the neighbor (I just looked over from the balcony) has been replacing his fence on the other side of his property, so I am praying that he will do the same on this side, although that side's neighbor has dogs, and there may have been issues over there. I can't imagine someone would leave one side falling down and put a brand new fence up on the other side, but he does tend to do things half a**ed. There's also a new wooden foundation added to the back of the house, and I suspect her son is moving in, which would probably mean his girlfriend would be parking in my ditch full time, which is unacceptable. The mail lady couldn't even pull up to the mailboxes (his and our other neighbors', not mine) to deliver mail the other day. I'm crossing my fingers that they're just building a deck. Prayers are appreciated. I just put some bird seed and water out for the critters and let the cats roam the balcony for a few minutes before it gets too hot to go out. I replanted some tomato and carrot seeds the other day, but I'm not feeling all that positive. The neighbor across the street had some tomatoes growing, although not nearly as many as usual, since hers got drowned the way mine did. She said she was eyeing them to have a nice meal, but the deer jumped the fence and ate them . They could have left her one or two.
@Diane Lane "po, po in the hood" too funny! Course, I am not necessarily a big fan of seeing police around either. I generally prefer them to be going in the other direction, especially when I am driving. I have had enough speeding tickets over the years to be concerned! Sounds like you have your work cut out for you with the neighbors...but maybe you can move at some point...who knows? Good Luck with life in the hood.!
Hope all my fellow posters are having a good day today. In Central Texas, it will only feel like 100 degrees today. I am hoping for a rainy day soon. Otherwise, this gal is staying inside under the air conditioner.
Mornin'. It's gonna be another long day. I slept about 3 hours, then woke up around 12. Couldn't get back to sleep, so went online. My daughter was up too, so we had a nice online chat. Don't have no plans for today. All my fun starts tomorrow. Doc and lab appointment tomorrow, another doc Tuesday and yet another doc Thursday, in another town upriver a ways. That crap is getting tiresome. I see by the old big ben that it's closing in on 4am. I'm getting hungry. Guess I'll smell up my end of the building with more coffee and maybe sausage with added garlic, and some toast. I bet my neighbors hate me sometimes. So, carry on folks. Stay safe. Love everyone and no harm will come to you. Loretta Lynch says so.
Good Morning @Ike Willis and everyone else! Sorry you have to spend so much time at the Doctor's...I could think of a hundred things more pleasant to do, as I'm sure you can. Hope chowing down on that garlicky breakfast perks your spirits up some. Garlic is supposed to be a natural antibiotic...I always had lots to most things I cook too. And I always sprinkle extra in my cup of chicken noodle soup on the days when I need to let my digestive system have a break from heavy or rich foods. I have been cozying up at home ever since my husband and I got home this past Friday, so today I need to get out and run a few errands. So I hope I can find my "get up and go" this morning so I will be able to take care of those things. May you all have a perfectly wonderful day in every way....and if you don't...count your blessings anyway because you woke up this morning and you are loved!
