Good morning, all! As you feel free to celebrate, remember: "He who goes forth on the Fourth, with a fifth, may not come forth on the Fifth"!;)

Happy 4th to you, too, @Ike Willis !! I'm glad to hear your appointment went well. I don't think there's an issue in my town with reports of fireworks being mistaken for gunshots, *but* I live on a street with a number of veterans, a WWII, a few Korea, and a few Vietnam vets... oh, and a younger Gulf War vet. I always worry for the few who are dealing with PTSD... it must be hell at this time of year, because this neighborhood started with the bangs a few days ago already.

Send me some of that bacon? :D As I made my egg and toast this morning, I was standing there wishing soooo much that I would have bought bacon. :)

Good morning, everyone! I'll be studying for an exam today, making my store list and menu for tomorrow's grocery run, and getting 8 hours of "regular" work in. And at this moment, I'm procrastinating horribly!

I hope everyone's doing well today. Haven't seen @Ina I. Wonder around for a few days, but I may have missed her.

Thoughts with you today for that EKG, @Chrissy Page ... you'll do great with it. Just remember to put yer spunk on when you're getting dressed and all will go well. "I am Chrissy, hear me roar."

Ha ha, you were (and no doubt still would be, if you could) a hell raiser, @Ike Willis! My brother used to like playing with bottle rockets and things of that nature, but I preferred sparklers. Fireworks are illegal here, other than professional ones, of course, but people still buy and set them off in the neighborhood. I wouldn't mind if they did it in an empty lot, but of course they do it in the areas surrounded by homes and thick with trees that could catch on fire. I have some sort of phobia about fire for some reason. Back home, we had some irresponsible neighbors and they would shoot off fireworks that I could hear hitting the roof, so maybe that's the origin of it, although I was an adult by then. Workers on that same house later set a dumpster right next to my parents' house on fire by accident during some sort of renovation work.

Good Morning, Y'all. I'm not sure I'm up for good, but I am up. I did some work in the front yard yesterday, and my body woke me up screaming for pain meds, muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatories. I complied, and hopefully will feel better soon. I might even go downstairs and make a cup of tea to take back to bed with me. I'll probably read for a bit, or watch a little TV. I'm going to run to the store and pick up a few things today, then avoid civilization for the weekend, although I might visit with the neighbors.

@Chrissy Page I hope your EKG went well. They do one on me every time I end up in the ER, because of chest pain. I get chest pain a lot because of my Costochondritis, but they can't take a chance, so have to do an EKG. They're painless and quick. It used to bother me that they wasted time, money, and resources, but since my dad had a heart condition, I guess it's a good thing that I have peace of mind, at least about my heart.

Hope it's a beautiful day where y'all are.

I sure hope you'll be able to have a relaxing day, @Diane Lane , so that the pain and discomfort can remain minimal! Tea and reading is good... take it easy today!

Thanks, @Mari North. I was in a flare to start with, so the gardening only exacerbated what was already there. After I make my run to the store, it's going to be all relaxation all weekend, other than the occasional chore and my usual activities. I finally started reading the Wayward Pines trilogy on my Kindle, and that should keep me busy for a bit.

I have the type of neighbors (not my friend-neighbors, but others in the neighborhood) who like to shoot guns off on the 4th of July, as well as at random times throughout the year, so it should be an interesting weekend. Also, my next door neighbor's buddies like to come by and toss random firecrackers and other smaller fireworks in his driveway. I'm not sure they'll do that this year, since he just got married, but it wouldn't surprise me. No doubt there'll be a lot of dog barking, and I'll have to work to keep the cats calm, but at least they're safe in the house with me. On the plus side, I was sometimes catch some beautiful fireworks out my bedroom window, once they start setting them off.

Good Morning Everyone! It is looking a little overcast in Central Virginia this morning. Not alot planned for today, brief trip to the store I think. I do need to try to make money, and maybe do a bit of lawn cutting or shrub trimming. It seems pretty cool at the moment so hopefully it will stay that way. I hope everyone has an eventful or non eventful day..whichever you prefer!

Good morning all, I just realized that today is the 4th of July. For some reason I thought it was next Monday.

@Chrissy Page , Everyone is right at how easy the EKG is, and you'll even wonder what they can find out in so short a time. I think that after we reach 65, the EKG becomes almost as routine as the blood tests they regularly run. My doctor doesn't even make me wear one of those stupid paper gowns.

Poor @Ike Willis , It doesn't seem fair does it? We try to watch what we eat so we can stay healthy, but where's the taste to all these supposedly health foods? I've gotten good at having a bite or two of whatever I want, and then no more.

@Mari North , what kind of exam are you studying for? I have loved to study just about anything for most of my life. I wonder if my brain wouldn't be more organized if my curiosity didn't run in so many directions.

@Diane Lane , I too fear fire at this time of year, at least this year we're not as dry as in the past. Out in my area, gun fire has gotten pretty bad in the last few years. We have a high population of Hispanics, and when they drink and party, it seems someone has to discharge their guns. I wonder if gun fire is a normal holiday pass time in their original countries? I've got my water hoses ready though.

Thanks @Joe Riley , I was looking at the wrong page of the calendar. The page was flipped to last March. Seems my grandson forgot to put the current month back up after he checked on some dates. Wow, what a relief. I thought I had gone past a senior moment for a bit there.

Bobert thought it was funny, but I'll just have to teach him what funny is. I am now twisting my hands in contemplation.

Good Morning, Y'all, and Happy Saturday. The sun's shining again, and the birds are twittering outside my window. I need to remember to be more specific when I make a wish about winning the lottery. I won $2, which won't go far in paying the bills :(;):p. But, at least I won something. I suppose I could roll that over into a Powerball ticket for tonight, if I felt like going back out. I picked up my Kroger Friday Freebie yesterday, and blueberries were on sale, so I feel like a winner. Hope everyone has a nice day!

It's too late to say good morning. My Big Ben says it's 12:10pm. So, good afternoon. It's cool but has been cloudy all day so far. No rain yet.
Got dressed early but still haven't put on any shoes. Ain't going anywhere, so I may not put 'em on.
Usually have trouble finding shoes that fit comfortable enough to wear all day. When I was younger, I bought a pair of Wellington boots. They fit so well, I bought several more pairs, so I would have them awhile in case they quit making them. I read somewhere that when you find something you really like, buy up as many as you can, because sure as ever they'll quit making it soon.
Another well fitting shoe I had was New Balance brand. Can't remember the model, but at that time they were still being made in the USA. They fit great and held up well.
So, have a great day Y'all.

Shoes... now there's something I could (and often do!) go without. April through at least September you'll find me going through my sandal and flip flop collection unless it's a formal event. My favorites at the moment are my Adidas 'flops... padded, and sooooo comfortable!

Hiddy- ho boys and girls from North Central Texas. It will feel like 105 on Sunday. That is mighty hot. I am grateful for the man who invented central air conditioning. Yes, i certainly am.
