Ken, do you have statistics on where everyone is from? I'm just curious how many countries are represented within the membership here.
Since I don't require that people give that information, I don't have that. I could probably go into my server statistics and get an idea where people are coming to the forum from, but that would include non-members, and the spammers and those who are frequently subjecting us to DOS attacks would be included, so the number one country would probably be China, although I don't think we have any members from there. I know that when the forum is under a DOS attack, all of the ISPs that I see are from China.
Ahh, I didn't think of that, Ken. That makes sense. Oh good, so there are no Russian or Korean attackers? It would be so nice if everyone was on the up and up, and no attacks occurred. At least it's comforting to know they're all foreigners, I guess.
Sheldon Scott is not my real name but I really am from planet earth. There are some on here who know who I am and where I live but for now, at least, I'll just say I'm from a state that was part of the CSA.
I live in Scotland, but was born in England and have both British and Irish passports. Even so, I'm still only one person...
I am originally from Romania. I've lived most of my life in the States - I had a small laundromat business. Now, however, after the business failing, I've retired and went back to Romania to live my last decades in my true home. So I guess you could say that I'm Romanian at heart but I think like an American.
That narrows it down quite a bit. Basically... the south. But your hesitance to be specific has me intrigued. Another hint?
I was looking for somewhere nicer than here to move my family to about 20 years ago, now. I found a cottage in Scotland. It was small and basic. But it was on a hill, looking down one side you see the water, and looking out the other side you see beautiful, grassy landscape. It was only 85,000 pounds or euros. I wanted it more than I have ever wanted a house or home. Unfortunately, Scotland didn't want me, lol. I envy you for getting to live there, and hear the beautiful Scottish accent everytime you talk to someone. lol

Another forum I was on started out to be a really good forum with a lot of good discussions but then a group of really nasty people more or less took over, and ganged up on anyone who had a different opinion and got away with name calling and putting people down mostly because the moderator was on their side. So, I decided to stay somewhat anonymous on here until I see how it goes on this forum. I may decide to leave at any time.
I think that we have all been going on "rescue missions" to bring in some of the fold before the sharks eat them or scare them out of the water, @Sheldon Scott . I just invited another one this morning, and hopefully, he will show up. We don't have any sharks here, and we also have a really good Lifeguard !
