Are you dyeing your hair? It's all right to have the natural color of the hair but for us, it's kind of psychological to see white hair on my head. I feel old. That's the main reason why I dye my hair black, not for them but for my eyes so I would feel younger especially when I dress up for work in the morning. A hair dye service costs $10 in the salon and that excludes the dye. And that $10 worth of dye can last for 3 to 4 applications. In other words, I can save a lot if I would be the one to dye my hair. And that's times 2 because my husband also needed dyeing. I taught our housemaid how to apply dye and now we have a free dyeing session twice a month.
I saw an old man in the store, who had unnaturally solid black hair. He looked very odd and it was so obvious that he dyed his hair. He had an old face and thought he looked younger. He was only fooling himself.
Wow, that's cheap. I get highlights but not too often usually when I'm going somewhere. I pay about $135 for highlights and a cut and roots. I can't do it myself, my hair is too long and I can't get the back. Also need 2 boxes. That's why I switched to highlights, you can go longer because it's not so noticeable when your hair is 10 different shades of blonde.
My grandpa was like that... not sure which parts of his genes to thank, (his mama was the same way) jet black hair until the day he died in his 80s. His daughters, my Mom included, used to snoop around the house to see if he colored his hair, but he really didn't... he always told them he didn't, but they still looked. And it wasn't a barber either... all haircuts were done at home.
My hair is still blonde/!ight brown,, as it has always been but my beard, when I grow one, is gray. My beard used to be a mix of browns and reds, which led people to think that I had changed my hair color. Since I couldn't grow a beard during the twenty years that I was a paramedic, I was shocked to find that it was gray when I grew one after I retired.
No I don't dye my hair because I think it's too harsh on the scalp. Now days they got the more natural dyes for hair so it's not so bad. Just got to watch out for the lead based hair dyes though. You look nice with your hair black! I'm starting to get some greys coming in too.
I have a natural curly hair with a mix of black and white color. Somehow, i like the color combination and don't see a need to dye my hair.
Wife and I dye our hair and have been since we've been married (15 yrs.) now. I use Just For Men Beard & Mustache. Don't have a beard, but use it on my temples and mustache. Wife uses regular women's hair dye. We constantly run into folks that have a hard time believing that we are 68 and 67. We love it!!,
I was born blonde and was a blonde teenager but after that I got dishwater blonde and starting dying my hair when I was about 20 and have been ever since with only a few times of having my naturally dark ugly blonde hair. Did highlights mostly because it's less maintenance. I'll quit dying it when it all becomes white, since there is platinum blonde even for the young women.
Hi Chrissy, That was I did to my hair a couple of months ago, my grey hairs were not that noticeable, this was costing me 110.00 every 6 weeks, after a while I just couldn't afford it. So I now do my own hair. I have lighter hair than the picture on the left.
Hi Patsy, When my grey,s come out, it makes me feel old. Why is it that men with grey look very handsome, while women with grey hair makes them look older?
@Rachel Rodarte - true what you say, but I'll forego looking like a man for the gray hair to look nice 'Some' women do look good with it, maybe the style helps Not for me though, gray is not for me although I am allergic to hair colorants I am using a coloured mousse at present which is OK for bits ..............
