Although I was a few decades away from being born in the 1920s, I have seen some movies that were filmed in the 1920s. This was a time of silent films, although talkies were introduced in the latter part of the decade. I had a hard time coming up with twenty 1920s movies that I actually liked, so I have come up with twenty movies that I think I remember having seen, a few of which I thought were actually good. Although Our Gang was presented on television as a series in the 1940s, they originally played in theaters, so I have included them in my list. Metropolis Our Gang Nanook of the North Hearts and Spurs The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog The Mysterious Island The Wizard of Oz The Lucky Dog Greed The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Laugh, Clown, Laugh Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde In Old Arizona The American Prisoner Redskin The Return of Sherlock Holmes Wolf Song 3 Bad Men On with the Show
I think that TCM channel does silent movies back to back. Metropolis is a timeless classic. I watch it at least once a year. It still amazes me.
