Here are a twenty movies that I liked from the 1930s, in no particular order. All Quiet on the Western Front Wizard of Oz Stagecoach Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Frankenstein Dracula The Adventures of Robin Hood The Most Dangerous Game Duck Soup Animal Crackers Monkey Business Horse Feathers Of Mice and Men Jesse James Dodge City Drums Along the Mohawk The Dawn Patrol The Charge of the Light Brigade Mutiny on the Bounty Judge Priest
Love wizard of Oz.... Dracula On the western front King Kong. Top Hat Snow white The hunchback of Notre Dam Mutiny on the Bounty The 39 steps The lady vanishes ..anything with cowboys and Indians in it, gets my vote as well... The top rated film of the '30's ..is one I've tried to watch several times,..I just can't get through it..don't like Gone with the Wind at all
I liked every Charles Dickens book that I have read, but didn't care for most of the movies based on his books.
I'm an avid reader,..AVID...and not really a movie fan per se... but much as I enjoyed the books as a child, I'm the opposite to you, I prefer the films of Dicken's books...
I will add the 3 'Thin Man' movies made in the 30's, starring William Powell. " Thin Man " 1934 " After the Thin Man " 1936 " Another Thin Man " 1939 There were 3 more made in the 40s. Pretty funny stuff for the period.
