    50 years ago tomorrow day,
    my love my daughter
    born then taken away.
    Perfectly formed, a real beauty but
    with lung power lacking to take her breath
    Her lifespan, one hour, then laid to rest

    @Faye Fox , my deepest sympathy for your loss. I can sympathize because I have lost a daughter, too.

    I can't think of anything worse than losing a child.

    @Faye Fox

    It hits home. 52 years ago Tuesday past, both my new wife's parents were taken away.....Oct. 22, 1967.

    I had a brother I never knew, little Paul. Firstborn to my folks, 1928, sick on Friday aged 5 weeks, Dr. said come in Monday, it's "just a cold".......Monday he was dead. Pneumonia. My sister then came along in 1930, preceding me by 12 years; she's gone, too, victim of her own circumstance, smoking.

    sad memories for you @Faye Fox , you never forget even though you only had one hour to get to know your child 1/2 a century ago... :oops:

    I lost a newborn son 35 years ago , when my daughter was 8 years old ... !:(

    I was a twin myself, and my brother didn't survive. :(

    I lost one nephew at 4 months, and a niece at 15 years old to the same mother (my sister) :(

    I lost my mother when I was 18 and the youngest sibling was 10 and I had to raise them...:(

    Death and loss of loved ones are always the hardest thing to bear!... I still weep for them all to this day

    Me too! All through the years I was so busy working on jobs and had hobbies that kept me busy, so I didn't think about loss and hardships of the past as much. Just the last two years I don't have the motivation to do hobbies, fitness, or work with support groups, etc., so I find myself thinking of these things more often.

    My only wish is to die before my kids or grandsons......I don’t think I could take it otherwise.

    Yes, I would have that wish also if I had kids or grandkids, but I am the last of my immediate family.
