Good morning all, just wanted to inform I'm taking a few days off. I fell in the hallway this morning going to answer the phone. My oxygen chord caught on something, yanked my head back and I slipped. I threw my arm up to balance myself and my thump caught on a snap hook on my wife's purse hanging on a door knob in the hallway.. I fell, my hand hanging, caught on this hook which dug deep into my thump past the snap-in part so that it took some time to determine what kind of hood it was, because was caught past the snap-in release. Took four inches of skin off both arm, 3/4 inch wide and dug in to the flesh. Hit on my elbow and hip. Lucky something didn't break. Someway had two cuts on a finger. Overall, looks like I had a run in with a bear. Both hand and arms bruised up. Wife call our son over to help but I got the hook out and got up on my own. I'm sore but everything seems to be superficial but typing is painful. Anyway, going to take a few days off and wanted to let you know. Take care.
Oh my goodness @Bill Boggs , what a shock and a shake -up for you...(((hugs)))...You're so thoughtful to know we'd worry if we hadn't heard from you in a few days but oooh how painful that must have been to try and let us know what was happening... Bless you Mr Man...stay safe, take as much rest as you need, try and relax despite your pain, we don't want you to struggle with your breathing because of anxiousness,...we'll be waiting with the coffee for you hot and ready when you return..
@Bill Boggs, I am so sorry to hear about that. We don't tend to heal as quickly as we used to either, so I pray everything will be well with you soon.
I'm so sorry to hear that you are hurt, @Bill Boggs . Heal quickly and get back to us. We'll leave the light on for you.
Sounds like an awful experience, and I am glad that you were not injured worse that’s you were from a fall like that one. Adding our prayers to everyone else’s and hoping that you have a fast recovery. I guess that you learned the hard way that it is never a good plan to try and snag your wife’s purse when she is not looking.......
@Yvonne Smith Now, now, be nice......humor is good, but rarely alleviates pain, in my experience. Pain? Lord knows, I've discovered all three kinds, over and over again: physical pain,.......mental pain,.......and constitutional pain. Frank
Best Wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery @Bill Boggs ! A couple of the radio shows I listen to have a "The Best Of....." on holidays and Saturdays so maybe while you are taking a small sabbatical we'll copy and paste a few "the best of Bill Boggs" so you won't miss roll call. Naw, it'll confuse the search engines and somebody is bound to go ...."Didn't I read that somewhere else?" Take time to read and mend up whilst storing up something spectacular to write about when the fingers get ready to go again.
