Has anyone an adjustable bed? I have an enormous desire to get one but I have not idea if is beneficial (better sleep / rest /helps with back pain....) I checked with Mattress Firm but the lady salesperson wasn't very good giving info. Thanks.
We have an older Sleep Number bed, and it is wonderful. You can adjust the firmness of the mattress to whatever you want it to be, and for two people, each person can adjust their own side. My friend Ina I Wonder had one of the new Sleep Number beds, and hers also adjusted the mattress so that you could raise and lower the head of the bed, plus it had a built-in massage unit that you could turn on when you wanted that. I am sure that it was the top of the line, and she said it was very expensive, but she said it was the best bed she had ever had.
Thanks. The Mattress Firm one I saw goes for about U$S 3,000 but the brand you mention sounds much better than theirs.
Our first Sleep Number bed came from a lady who I think chased off her husband. She was selling everything and we bought it for around $150. Unless for some unseen reason that we have to, I do not think I’ll do well on any other kind of bed. Both sides are set to the firmness we each desire and it’s a win-win.
Bobby , Thanks for the info. I don't need to worry about "individual mattresses". It will be all for me. Why I never heard of Sleep Number as a brand?
Bobby , I just contacted Sleep Number only store in my area...They even told me the prices; the one I want goes for U$S 2,895.- I guess tomorrow I will pay them a visit. Thanks for the info.
I have used an adjustable bed for 20 years. They are a medical necessity for me. I started with the Craftmatic bed and it worked great except for the wired remote cord and the bearings squeaked. It was overpriced and the customer service was horrid. Their main service manager was a rude condescending jerk. They changed ownership due to many lawsuits. When the mattress started getting bad after 12 years, I went with the Serta Motion Perfect after a lot of shopping. I love it with the wireless remote and it is very quiet. I had to get the vibrator with it and I unhooked it as I hate it. It just shakes the bed and has nothing to do with a massage. Just a gimmick to soak you for some more money. So far the bed is holding up good as new and the price was reasonable. Customer service is good, but the frame and mattress are two different companies. I sleep on my back at 35 degrees elevation for inner ear disorder and also Hiatal hernia. My back problems and posture were really improved once I switched to an adjustable bed. Being single I got the XL Twin. I am tall so I require the extra length, XL. I love my adjustable bed and can't sleep without it.
Faye Fox, Thanks for the info. I just came back home from buying one (full / one year mechanism warranty) in U$S 2,365.-- tax inc. it will be delivered Wednesday. I checked the same mattress / mechanism in the four stores I visited in two days....and the cheapest.
Well, the adjustable bed is home already; I think I wiill need a ladder to go to bed. Gee, this one is tallllllllllllllllll
Yes, they are so much higher than old adjustable beds. Fitted sheets are hard to put on if you use a mattress protective pad. I have to raise my bed head up high to get the fitted sheet on and then lower it to stretch it out.
Yesssss, I found out while making the bed. One thing is for sure........this bed made me popular in my building. Three neighbors plus the Super came to see the bed.
i told you guys this bed is highhhhhhhh Here is the little stool I made to reach the bed before I end up on the floor
@Silvia Benoit Here is your photo rotated upright. That quilt looks similar to one my mom made. Your bed does look a bit higher than mine.
Thanks. I imagine it took your mother months to make the quilt. It did me. Yes, is a high one; I feel I am in a hospital.
