Lately I have been out in the backyard with my granddaughters and constantly telling them to make sure that the screen door is shut because the closure thingy was broken. Some times they did, most times not. Well, I just had to do something about it so I jimmy rigged it.
@Von Jones , I'm glad you fixed it but I can't figure out how you did it from the picture. Is that shiny round thing an old fashioned screen door spring?
@Shirley Martin, lol. The shiny thing is the new spring that I thought would work with the old one but it didn't. So I remove all the old parts from the very old screen door and found some screws that would fit the holes already there because the new ones were to small. End result was the shiny thing was too long so I slipped it on then wrapped it around the hook that you see. When the door slammed shut and it didn't come apart I was a happy camper.
Well just one more time as the spring flew off the door when Johnny swung the screen door wide, I mean very wide open. Unnecessarily I thought with a few more choice words that I didn't utter. For some reason I think he was testing how I rigged the door. Oh well. Today was a very hot, muggy day and I didn't really want to try and fix it back so I sat back and signed into Netflix to watch Unit 42 and fell asleep. I was awakened by an unfamiliar noise and went to check it out and as I entered into the living room a bat came flying at me. Whoa!!! How the h*ll did a bat get in the house?xx@""!! Well that really woke me up so after a few series of flights (mine with a box over my head) downstairs the bat was released from entrapment and I went to work on the screen door.
