Sometimes a terrifying incident is the wake up call to make one realize what is needed so this does not happen again.

I am glad to see that you came through this and are willing to make the lifestyle changes for future health improvement.

First of all, thank you Gloria for trying to get out of that 'limbo' and Welcome back to the land of the living!

I have also gone a similar near death experience in the year 2011 when I had my stroke. But luckily I got up, undergo a therapy to recover and here I am still trying to get better and better. I hope and pray to fully recover and move as normal as I can be. Right now, I can walk with the aid of a single cane. But have gone from being bedridden and going through stages of walking sticks before this current single cane I'm using. I'm still suffering from lack of balance but I've learned to manage bit by bit.

I'm also very glad you're still with us, this small little community of ours has lost too many already. I'm still reeling from the shock of Ina. :(

Wow what a week this has been. I will try to address questions in one lump sump here. Yes they did do echo cardio, showed some damage to heart. will know more
after I see heart specialist. They did it all, ekg, the works. The kidney injury also brought on by the BP,I think.
I also will be seeing a lung specialist, all of this in the next two weeks.
Doctors think the BP has been going on for a while, and I am inclined to agree. I had some wheezing, came and went, for last month, intended, to see a doctor soon.
But when I stepped in the shower on Tuesday, I guess the ole, body had gone its limit. Appearing and feeling fine one minute, then on your way out the next minute, is more than eye opening. I have had several escapes with death in my lifetime, but nothing compares to this. But I do not want to focus, on that, but move on and work in getting myself in decent shape.
Overwhelmed, by meds, blood pressure monitor, a stack of of material to read about my conditions now, was just too much. I do not do much yesterday, and will do very little today. The nurse called yesterday, and I was really glad. She said the medicines are messing with me, and that I had been through a lot.
I have lost 7-8 lbs, this week:), temporary I am sure, for all the meds.
I do know my cholesterol was high, several years ago, doctor took me off of Lipitor, because of joint pain, bigtime. Insurance would not pay for the new meds, so he said take fish oil, and lots of luck. I had stopped taking that about 2 years ago. They kept giving me Lipitor, at hospital and a prescription for that, i will have to talk to other doctor about trying to take that.
Am taking 325mg of aspirin, which always messes with my stomach, so not sure how long that will last. Probably will be switched or added to once I see heart and lung doctors.
So now, to learn all about avoiding salt as much as possible. Was never a big salt person, but for instance did not know cheese had so much salt in it!
Am trying to follow the DASH diet, that they had me on in hospital. Totally have to revamp grocery shopping and cooking.
My dear hubby, is suffering more than he lets on, but has been great in helping and being supportive in all of this.
So for now, will rest up some, try and get the mundane things done, and work on learning to cook again. You all know, all that I know at the moment. After more doctor visits will learn more I am sure. Thank you all for your concern, and well wishes, it is great to have some help from my internet buddies:). Wish you all a good and happy day.

Oh bless you @Gloria, I know it must have taken it out of you to sit down and write all of that. You do sound like you're going through the mill with the meds and now a whole new diet, and many more doctors to see in the near future. ..so I wish you all the very best luck with that. As for all the meds you mentioned I'm sure there will be others on here none less than @Yvonne Smith who will be able to make suggestions and support to you..but for the meantime, try and relax, don't attempt too much...and above all take care..

Don't let all the new stuff overwhelm you @Gloria Mitchell. Just take one day and one step at a time and know that we all are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Good morning, to all. Feeling decent this morning, hope to get a few small things done for the day. Think i am going to have to skip the aspirin, for today at least really
messes with the stomach. Hope to see regular doctor this week, then maybe I have a better picture of all this medicine stuff.

That’s no good at all having a major Heath scare like that @Gloria Mitchell
It sounds like the doctors are trying to,get your BP under control as that can cause kidney failure if not controlled
I can’t add much more other than say no ,,we don’t need to loose any more of our friendly group so you take care
    Xx

Just checking in to tell about what condition my condition is in :). This has been a rough 4 weeks and so glad to be back to feeling normal.
I have been doing some house duties and moving around much more. The horrible taste in mouth is just about gone, so naturally now I get hungary.
The doctor is happy with the BP meds he put me own. I send him email daily with my readings. He said next we move on to fine tuning it-whatever that means.
Dr said I did not have to restrict salt to 1500 or less- to eat normally just do not salt at table. However I am very salt conscience now,and dodge as much as possible.
Last week when I went to see family doctor - i looked close to death and felt like it also. When you own doctor says you look awful, your so pale, blah blah..
Anyone part of that was because the new BP meds cardio dr. pit me own, said I would not like him much , but had to be done.
Unfortunately, there must be some damage to kidney as stated before and until all the dang tests, will not know just how hurt the heart may be.
All that come up week of 15th.
I just know, how grateful I am to be up doing mundane things. Ohhh, hubby did not want me trying to drive or being around bunch of people as
still have not had flu or pneumonia shots. So, we have been ordering grocery on line at Wal Mart, and he drives to pick them up! We are loving this, and may use it even more, when not sick. Again thank you all for the positive feedback and the prayers and well wishes :). I must stay alive and kick-n to see what the final end is for ole Trump tha Chump:D
