Bob Newhart passed away yesterday at age 94.

I always liked Newhart. I have his first 2 comedy albums. He was popular in the day. His was the first comedy album to make number one on the Billboard charts and peaked at number two in the UK Albums Chart in 1960. It won two Grammy Awards, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist.

He received numerous accolades, including three Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. He received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

His wife (Virginia Quinn) passed last year at age 83. They were married for 60 years.

    RIP to both of them.

He was one of the all-time greats. I had a couple of his comedy albums even before we had a television.

CBS is running a one hour special on Newhart. 8PM-9PM Eastern. (Yeh, it's already started.)

Loved The Bob Newhart Show. Great cast. Sad to know so many people have passed that I followed starting with my childhood watching on a small Motorola TV.
