My husband watches a lot of discovery channels for hours sometimes. One day I was passing by with a load of laundry and heard the most interesting statement made by the host. That some perfumes/colognes have been made with whale feces. I thought that was unbelievable but it's true.

The host stated that the feces enhances the fragrance giving it more depth or fullness. Now every time I test sample a perfume or cologne I get this vivid picture of a huge pile of whale poop and think to myself, 'This could have some whale poop added to help create this wonderful fragrance.'

True Von. Ambergris is excretion from the sperm whale. Pretty darn hard to find so most perfumes made in the labs. I googled it but had heard of it before.

Interesting fact. Reminds me of dung pucks from the old west movies.

I am going to google it too. I'm curious as to what made someone even think about this. So many questions. Thanks Richard for the link.

So it's not only the designer name that makes the cost expensive but the whale poop as well. :D
