@Ken Anderson That a crook found his way to the top in a federal bureacracy is not surprising. He may have embellished his aura of importance by pronouncements of coming disaster due to Global Warming.....

But his presence and sickening audacity do not explain the plight of 10 million folks beginning the process of "drown or flee" In Jakarta. Or, perhaps the flooding is simply occasional there, like in many other places?

Floods have been a part of what the earth does since the planet has been in existence, I think. The only difference now is that every time there is a flood, or a hurricane, a drought, a snowstorm, or even a forest fire, the agenda people will point at it and scream "climate change" or "global warming." Long before human beings even considered inventing a gasoline engine, parts of the earth have flooded, land masses have sunk, and new ones have erupted.

Yes, all very true. The issue of global warming aside, one might wonder if the Jakarta thing has happened before or not. If they have determined that massive subsidence is occurring, how long has such been happening? If over the entire history of it being a large city, then too many people may indeed have created the subsiding via groundwater extraction. If over the past, say, 50 years, how is it to be explained?

Deforestation could be a contributing problem in Jakarta.

Canadian global warming models threw out actual historical data, substituting models of what the temperatures should have been according to their theory. -- American Thinker. In other words, the computer models that Canada uses are themselves based on other computer models, discounting any factual data that doesn't fit the model.

I admit I am not as informed as the rest of you in regards to climate change and global warming. But to me it is only logical that with more people, trash of all kinds, pollution, more buildings less trees - etc etc- there bound to be reprecussions contributing to climate and global changes.
Animal, insect and plant life have experienced many changes also due to the everyday human pollution.
For me , I question more as how and can we fix this ? Recycling was suppose to be part of the answer- not so:(

The air, the land, and the water are much cleaner today than they were even fifty years ago, yet the agenda people keep pushing their silly disaster clock forward. No, just as gun control is all about control and not about guns, the climate change agenda is also all about control, having nothing to do with either the climate or the weather. Or haven't you wondered why the people at the head of the climate change agenda are constantly flying around the world on private jets, or why Al Gore uses more electricity in any one of his houses than is used by the average small town? And if these people really believed that our coastlines are going to be underwater any day now, why do they all own oceanfront property? They don't believe their own message. That's for the suckers.

@Ken Anderson ".......or why Al Gore uses more electricity in any one of his houses than is used by the average small town?"

It relates to the desires of those anointed with power.
