We really wouldn't call our lifestyle "boring", but to some Seniors that are "on the go" quite a bit, our lifestyle would probably be boring. Of course, doing different things can take money.
Now, during parts of the summer months here when the temp is 92+ degrees w/64% humidity in the afternoons, and just plain HOT outside, all we want to do is sit at home, watch tv and, many times, take a 2-hour nap in the afternoon with the A/C on. It's not healthy, as 70 year old Seniors, to be "out and about" in that kind of heat and humidity, even though there are Seniors that do it. During Saturday mornings, we will go out for breakfast and do some running around, aka shopping, but once that heat really cranks up after the noon hour, we are home. Now, once we move, we won't have all of this dang humidity and be much, much happier and possibly do more things. Wife can't wait to go to Estes Park, Colorado and see elk again.

Funny to go to the Hard Rock Casino/Hotel in Tampa and see all of the Seniors inside playing penny slot machines during the hot afternoon hours.

Then, there are those Seniors that are "homebodies" for whatever reasons and really enjoy their lifestyle that some would call "boring".

    How about you?

Kind of boring when at home, especially in the summer here.

Very busy when I visit kids....

My ideal is somewhere in between.

I don't really think of myself as having a lifestyle.

Since I fell out of the rat race I just bump along doing what comes naturally to me.

I'm sure that others would find my quiet life boring but it suits me just fine.

Ive been alone for about 14 yrs minus the few yrs I had my ex here and I was quite content and never bored...this year is different ...very bored and lonely lately.

    One reason I joined Curves.

Then when everyone tells me to join this or that....I really don't feel like it.:(

It's been a tough year for me....

Guess I really need not comment about being bored........those who know of my antics are aware of the answer; those who don't know, don't care.

Though I am retired, my spouse is not, so we are restrained by her schedule. We travel when we can, and work our little farm. It is generally pretty peaceful here. If I were alone, I would probably move somewhere where the winters weren't quite so long, but I am not generally lonely as long as I have my dog, my television and my computer.

 (aghast!) You haven't disposed of your gun, have you? I likely would use that to head up my list of things kept handy!

No, we in Alaska are all well armed for a number of reasons. I even have a auto-loading BB gun that my wife delights in shooting.

Autoloading! Have never seen one. Would you be good enough to identify it to allow research?

It is a Crosman P10 with a 20 "round" magazine. One of my sons gave it to me for my birthday for Squirrel Defense (see my post on the squirrel in the greenhouse experience).

On a typical day, I get up about ten in the morning, sometimes earlier or later. I eat breakfast, then turn the computer on and work, either at my job, or on websites, or SEO stuff when I have a client, although I haven't been doing much of that lately. While I am working, I watch movies or binge-watch one series or another on one of the Roku channels. Sometimes I'll listen to paranormal podcasts instead, or old Art Bell episodes.

Sometimes we go out for breakfast, and we make far more trips to the grocery store than we should have to. I may or may not eat dinner, as sometimes I snack instead.

Since I work from home, I'll take breaks to water the yard or garden, to mow the lawn, or work on the garden, and I take several breaks to spend time with the cats. Sometimes I'll take a nap in the afternoon, but I don't generally do that. I might fall asleep in my chair.

Sometime between midnight and four in the morning, I'll go to bed.

Once a year, we'll take a week at a timeshare, and once a week we'll go to Arlington for a week, although this year it will be for only a few days. We spend a couple of days at the Common Ground Fair each year although, more often than not, we stay in the hotel and don't go back for the second day. A half dozen times a year or more, we'll get a hotel room in Bangor and go to the movies or something.

I used to spend several days at camp but I haven't done that this year at all. I still hope to get up there before winter, though.

My wife goes to her sister's in Connecticut for a week a couple of times a year, so I count that as a vacation too.

Heck, due to the humidity, that since returning from Colorado, we are having a very hard time adjusting to again, along with weekend storms, heat and tides not being at the right times, we haven't even been able to get our boat out on the water this summer. Hopefully, that will change pretty darn soon. Again, because of the heat, humidity and weekend storms, haven't made it to the range from some shooting either.

We don't live a boring life, but living here, it's making life boring for us. Of course, due to wife working during the week (Mon thru Fri), we only have weekends to really have some fun on either the boat or going to the range, but not in the heat/humidity we've been having.

I'm always worse in the summer here.

I get up at 4 am usually and then hurry and do everything early...so by 9 am...I'm bored.

It's hurry up and then do nothing.

Time used to go so quickly for me but lately it's dragging.
